Staff served us as a team (I’m guessing they split the tips). They got busy and we needed to flag them down to get a second portion of rice. But everything was SO fast, tasty, efficient, fresh. I recommend this for a simple evening out for solidly good Thai food.
A lot of people are complaining about the high spice levels and these reviews, but I did not find them any different from most other Thai restaurants. The mild was mild and the medium was reasonably medium. That being said, I was not a fan of the Thai basil sauce with their Bangkok 54 sauce. For whatever reason, I couldn’t really taste the basil component of it.
The crispy tofu was very good and so were the fresh spring rolls. I would say even the green curry that we ordered was extremely flavorful, though it turned out to be a bit sweet; maybe that was because we asked for it to be mild? So be wary of it. I would also say that the Thai iced tea was a bit too mild in flavor for my taste.
There is a reasonable amount of outdoor seating here and the people that work here are accommodating.
Our server, Vera, was very knowledgeable and pleasant.
For our appetizer, we split the Crisy Frief Tofu. with sauce. The appetizer was very delicious and came out piping hot. The presentation was great too. I was actually able to use the chopsticks with the appetizer and some with my entree!!
I ordered the Massaman Curry with Fried Tofu in a coconut milk (cream sauce ?) which included potatoes, onions, cashews and other spices. I told our server I don’t eat as spicy, so she recommended to order the dish as it comes (mild).
She was right on point. I brought a little home for my mom since she likes Massaman curry, but she found it a little sweet because it was ordered as mild which was perfect for me. My mom still liked it. The dish comes with white rice.
My boyfriend got the tofu pad Thai which normally comes with fish sauce and eggs.
If you are vegan or vegetarian, they can leave out the eggs and/or fish sauce.
We also got a dish for my boyfriend’s roommate. He wanted the Chicken Red Curry. I told Vera that he wanted spicy, but not too spicy. She recommended the spice level of 1.5. My boyfriend said his roommate really enjoyed the meal.
We will definitely be back! Nice, but casual place for a date night. The owner’s name is Jay ( not sure if I spelled that right). The decor on the walls inside is nice.
I tried the Bangkok Duck and it was amazing!! Never had it before. Tasted like chicken kinda, but definitely more tender and more fatty (but in a good way). Have to try duck if you go!!
