Great place to stop off the ferry and grab lunch before striking out into Canada! We were all over AK for 10 days and this was the best fish and chips we had anywhere. The art on the ceiling and bumper stickers on the walls are great gags, we loved looking over them. Folks behind the bar were kind and attentive. Thanks for being a part of our amazing honeymoon!

The food is good, not great, but good. It has gone downhill over the past few years. Staff was not friendly welcoming or attentive. As Canadians, we felt that the locals were kind of put off by the fact that we were “bothering” them. The whole town felt a bit bothered by the tourists. The furniture has seen way better days, it was not clean and overall, we were happy to eat and get out as quick as possible. Try alpenglow or deer heart, they are a much better experience.

The food was outstanding! We got the fish and chips and they were the best I have ever had in my life! The service was a bit slow and it was a little dated. Although the bar was entertaining with “colorful” bumper stickers all over the wall!

Hands down the best halibut fish and chips I’ve ever tasted!! I’ve had a bunch in Juneau, AK. To my surprise, these were juicier and meatier on top of being fresh! I loved their tartar sauce, too with malt vinegar! You have to try them if you are in Haines, AK!

Not an expert on Halibut fish & chips, but mine was absolutely delicious. I could have hung out there all day eating that. Cold beer, good slaw, crispy fries and juicy, tender but meaty fish that was mild and fresh tasting. The batter was crispy and not at all greasy. Scrumptious!!!

Had breakfast there with the family. Food was great, coffee hot and the service was top notch. The server also the owner gave us a history lesson about the photos hanging in the dining room and bar. Her mother was in one of the vintage photos dancing and in another photo our server was a little girl selling gold painted rocks with her brother. A true gem of a place. Should not be missed if you are passing through.

Andrew was an outstanding server and hustled with a number of customers all coming in at once. He was friendly and efficient. We came for the halibut and chips and were not disappointed. The batter almost has a cornbread hush puppy like sweetness to it but was Not heavy like a hush puppy. Halibut was very fresh. The chips were average and not noteworthy and the Caesar salad was drowning in dressing so a star off but Andrew took it off our ticket which was appreciated. Would definitely come back again.
