Had a great lunch! All the staff was very friendly. Had multiple staff checking on us to make sure we were good or if we needed anything. One of my favorite things were that they have small bite desserts! They asked if we wanted anything and we at first said no because we were full but then they showed us their 2 bite desserts for just $1.99. Even if you’re full you could enjoy an after dinner sweet treat with them being just a bite or two. Perfect size! I’ve never seen this any where and I think it was genius! I had the Cuba Sandwich and it was SO good!

An off the beaten path GEM. GO. A building with more than a 100 years of history with a menu and service you might expect in a much more posh area of the island. Yet, SO CASUAL. The staff work so well together, obvious they like working here and serving you. If you don’t meet the owner, it is because she is somewhere else because otherwise she will come by to speak. There is a shop here with some local items but the menu has a wide range of things to make anyone happy (unless you want chicken tenders). Great drinks and the dessert options were off the chain – (but there is an amazing local ice cream shop about 200’ out the door). A worth while off the beaten path stop that is worth your time and pallet.

I’m just sorry it took us so long to visit Bamboo, food was excellent, service was attentive, the ladies are all very nice, great old Hawaii vibe. Very nice menu, do try the coffee cheesecake. My only issue was with portion sizes, they are small so order appetizers before hand. Can’t wait to return.

Very cosy restaurant with great food and drinks (coffee martini). I love the friendly and good-natured staff. They were able to accommodate our group size of 7 easily.

I had the, I believe it was called the , Kohana salad topped with fish. The grilled Ono was awesome. The locally grown greens were tasty. The home made salad dressed complimented the meal. Definitely try their homemade onion rings. I loved the small Hawaiian town atmosphere. This is a must visit if you are driving north on the Big Island.

This is a seriously cool restaurant. The structure (originally built as a hotel) is estimated to be built in the early 1900’s. The interior is decorated in an ‘old Hawai’i’ fashion that truly allows you to escape and relax. Food wise, great menu with options for all sorts of palettes. The team here is very friendly and relaxed. If you’re visiting the island as a tourist, plan a stop here as it has a design, energy, and atmosphere that is unbeatable.

The service was good but the portions were quite small. I got the soba noodles and I ended up hungry. My wife ordered the “large” Ceasar salad which is not enough to feed even a kid.

Update: I agree with the owner, check the pictures yourself. The portions are small despite charging usual prices of $25+ a person. My 8-year old can never finish his burger, but here he ate all of it, including the fries. Changing the review from 3 to 1 stars because of the owner actitude of not feeling sorry for our experience and instead blaming us for somehow not asking for more food. It doesn’t look like they will try to solve the problem.

Super great spot, so many options and really kind staff. The Aloha Vietnam sandwich was incredible with both pork or tofu. Nice portions without over filling. You need to try the Lilikoi iced tea, there is nothing like it.

This is my favorite restaurant on the Big Island ♥️
They serve traditional Mai Tais (light & dark runs and fresh juices) with a pineapple wedge & umbrella
The fresh fish is always delicious, this time it was Ahi medium rare, with cream caper sauce and lemon. Ask about the homemade desserts – I had Lilikoi cheesecake And I bought a few homemade arts & crafts in their gallery.
