Been meaning to try this place for awhile now and finally did last night. So glad I did. Great food, cool atmosphere, and great friendly service. Really enjoyed our meal. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. Definitely going to have this place in my regular rotation and can’t wait for summer to enjoy their outdoor space.

Craving Hawaiian food in SW Portland? Bamboo Grove Hawaiian Grille serves up hearty portions, an extensive menu, and delicious island flavors. No frills—just solid, affordable food. The staff is friendly, and street parking is usually easy to find.

Very warm welcoming. Instantly loved the place and their outdoor seating area!
Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu items and helped us decide what to get and suggested the combo plates, so we could try a variety of food.

Everything was SO GOOD! 10/10 recommend

We had a small birthday party in the back room. Walking in, it smelled amazing! My 3 year old picky eater immediately said this food smells good! I think that’s a first. I looked over the menu ahead of time and decided I’ll try something I’ve never had at a Hawaiian restaurant before. I got the yakisoba, and it was great!

Ever since a friend first took us here, it became one of our favorite spots, and we’ve come countless times. However, because it always seemed crowded and is a bit far, we hadn’t had the chance to visit recently—it had been about three years since our last visit.
When we came back, the outdoor seating had changed quite a bit. Previously, there were seats on both sides, but now they’re only along one side, which makes it feel more spacious. Also, the wall between the indoor back seats and the outdoor area has been removed, creating an even more open and inviting atmosphere.
The food was as delicious as always. We enjoyed the Korean Style Ribs (L) for $25.25, Loco Moco (M) for $16, and Pole Lolo for $17, along with a Fort George IPA ($7) and Mango Juice ($4.50). Our server was cheerful and friendly, making the experience even better. ✨

Grindz was good. I like their macaroni salad. Everyone was super friendly. The atmosphere was good for meeting up with friends as it wasn’t too loud and we could hear each other well.

Went to the 4 Days of Aloha. We expected overpriced plate lunches but what the heck is this???
They called it a Loco Moco. It looks like something from the prison movies.
One Tiny hamburger patty, flavorless brown gravy with few pieces of onions and chopped scrambled eggs, 1 small scoop of rice and a small scoop of mac salad for $18. And $4 for a can of Hawaiian Sun
I understand you got to make a profit and perhaps food safety prevents you from an over easy egg, but $22 with a can of juice for these? You have got to do better.

So last night I ordered two number 35’s medium to go at 7:45pm and the lady told me give her 15 minutes. I showed up at 8:30 and I didn’t know the restaurant closed at 8:00 pm. But the door was open. I’m assuming they didn’t think I was going to show up. One of the plates were picked off because half the food was just the bones with no corresponding meat. But instead of telling me this they allowed me to pay for the food and when I get home I realized half the meat was picked off. I called to get it straightened out and the gentleman who answered the phone basically accused me of lying and that could not have happen because they were closed and he was too busy to deal with me. I work really hard to provide for my family and was trying to do something special for Valentine Day and instead I was met with rudeness and eaten food. I would not have been upset if this was just communicated. It was my fault for coming in after the restaurant closing. But that’s something that should have been communicated and they should not accepted my money.

We met here with out of town friends on April 30, 2024; three of us are from Hawaiʻi, so it was the perfect place to meet. The food was wonderful! I had the guava chicken, which was broke da mouth, and my friend had the teriyaki ahi, which she said was perfect and was so happy that all of their shoyu is gluten free. Hubby had the Sweet & Sour Veggie Stir Fry, which he really liked. We were so busy talking that I forget what my other friend had! He pronounced it delicious. The mac salad was fantastic!

Our server was outstanding! (I wish I knew his name.) He made sure we were well taken care of, was friendly and helpful, and made us feel extremely welcome. Highest praise to him; he’s a real asset to the restaurant.

We were there for two hours, and had so much to catch up on, but our server never rushed us. He took photos for us at our request, and did a great job with that, too.

If I could give more than five stars, I would. Everything about our time there was terrific!

My family came here for lunch on a Friday. It wasn’t too crowded and we didn’t have trouble finding parking.

Service was great!

For two adults and one child, it cost us about $45. The plates were very full, I feel like we certainly got our money’s worth in amount and flavor.
