The food was amazing! The meat was the softest! My husband, my son,and I, we all loved the delicious lamb, cevapcici, and the Serbian salad. The bread was so soft, warm, and delicious. Alex is such a nice and friendly waiter. We were pleased with everything, food, service, and the atmosphere. We will definitely come again! хвала Alex, хвала Balkan Taste Restaurant!

I asked for recommendations from the server, and got the most delicious pork tenderloin I’ve ever had! The salad, bread, and spreads were absolutely perfect as well. I was dining alone and felt that it was just the right amount of friendly and attentive service. The only thing I might change is that the music was a tiny bit loud for my taste…But, it may be just right to someone else.
I went there to try something new, and was beyond pleased. I hope to be back when I’m in the Chicago area again!

Always wanted to stop by when given a chance and Im happy to report it did not disappoint.
Lambshank special was fall-off-the-bone delicious and the cabbage/beet salad paired wonderfully adding much needed acidity to help reset the palate.
I Will be coming back again on a weekend, I would like to see how lively this place gets.

Tbh, we were trying to access the street and didn’t realize it was Ramadan…
Fortunately we found this place and even though it wasn’t what we initially thought we wanted, we walked out being grateful for the detour.
Service was exceptional and food was good quality and made perfect!
Will be definitely going out of the way to come back more often than not…

Great food, great service. They treat you like family and the quality is homemade. Our server, Vicky, was extremely hospitable. I highly recommend the cream puff dessert! With two entrees, a salad, and shared dessert, it only came out to about 56$… very affordable. The portions were generous. My friend and I went home with leftovers. Will be back for more!

The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home.

Great Serbian food and great, friendly service! I’ve been here a few times and had the cevapcici and the slow roasted lamb (photo below). The lamb was fork tender and melon in your mouth savory and delicious. All the food is fresh and home made. I had them prepare food for a party and everyone loved it (cevapcici, shopska salad, gibanca). Near the Elmhurst exit off I90, so it’s an easy location. So glad to have found a nearby Serbian restaurant. Try it!! You’ll really like it!!

Lively place that emanates a relaxing ambiance. We ordered the house specials that were not on the menu – slow roasted lamb and oxtail. Both dishes were served over nicely seasoned mashed potatoes. The dishes were well done and rich in flavor and tender, and topped with thick (red wine) sauce. Overall the food was good but pricey. The menu items seemed more reasonable. The downer is their expectation for a min 20% or more tip.

My wife is Balkan and I always try a new Balkan restaurant when I see one. This place is in my top 5. Great music, atmosphere, coffee, and even better food! Great people and very welcoming. 10/10!
