Heard about this place from an Indonesian friend. Travelling from Boston to Kittery for some shopping we made our way to Somersworth 15 mins away to enjoy the best Satay (Sate) in New England. My wife and I tried a few different dishes other than the spicy pork sate.

It’s a tiny restaurant with traditional Indonesian cuisine, it was my first time, the waiter is very busy but very friendly. The people there also very friendly. The food seemed great but I didn’t love the dish I ordered.

I visited today after reading some great reviews about their food, and I must say, the pork skewers were fantastic! They had a perfect charred flavor, combined with a delightful sweet and spicy taste. However, despite the hype, the beef rendang was dry, tasteless, and lacked seasoning. It was quite disappointing. If you’re planning to visit, I highly recommend ordering the skewers—they’re definitely worth it!

If you come here, you must try the sweet pork satay—it’s a must! The Es Teler is also incredibly delicious. This is my go-to spot whenever I’m craving satay.

A wonderful late leisurely lunch. The food was wonderful. Each dish was cooked separately and brought out to us as it was ready. Sate was moist and flavorful. Two choices, sweet or spicy. We got one of each…spicy wasn’t very spicy, maybe because one of our party of three said they didn’t like spice. We ordered 3 separate dishes, each one was fabulous. Soup was delicious, the homemade pickles served with the noodles was amazing. The spicy potatoes served with the most tender steak was amazing. Check this place out, it was fabulous!

First time having Indonesian food, delicious. Would definitely recommend the Sate. I also enjoyed the tea they served us to start. Worth stopping by the attached grocery too!

Love this place! Came all the way from boston just to eat here since there are no indonesian restaurants in mass.
Our waitress was really nice and friendly and served us well. She gave me free sambal which i appreciate very much and she was very personable and provided great service.
Got the rendang, mie ayam, and babi rica rica. They also have a little indonesian mini market over there where you can buy unique snacks and ingredients. Support small businesses!!

This place is amazing. They serve authentic Indonesian dishes in New England. A must visit restaurant if you are craving for south east asian dishes that are beyond Thai and Vietnamese.
The crown jewel is the beef rendang. It’s beef slow simmered in spices, coconut milk, and shredded coconut. Taste like real Sumatra style rendang.
The ayam rica-rica is also good. It’s Menado style stir fried chicken with spices and chillies. The sate is also really good. Its chicken skewers grilled to perfection and served with peanut sauce. They also serve pork dishes as well.
You have to go to this place.

I’ve been here a few times over the past few years. My most recent visit was a take out order for some beef rendang – it was definitely the best rendang I’ve had stateside. I also found it even tastier the next day.
I lived in SE Asia for a year (Singapore) and find the flavors here pretty authentic. I also enjoy the opportunity to support the awesome Indonesian community in Somersworth when I can.
