I recently had the pleasure of checking out at the newly opened authentic Honduran restaurant, Baleadas Express in Takoma Park, and I can’t recommend it enough! My wife who is from Honduras and I tried the pollo con tajadas and horchata, and we were absolutely blown away.
The chicken was fresh, perfectly crispy, and the portion sizes were incredibly generous—especially for such a reasonable price! It’s clear that they take pride in their ingredients and preparation.
The service was impressively fast, and the staff were warm and friendly, making us feel right at home. If you’re in the mood for delicious pollo con tajadas or the iconic baleadas, this is the place to go! We can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu!

Absolutely incredible! This small Honduran restaurant serves authentic Honduran cuisine with a warm and friendly atmosphere. I tried the pastelitos hondureños, and they were divine—perfectly crispy with a flavorful filling. I followed it up with their fish dish, and it was just as outstanding, fresh, and well-seasoned. Highly recommend!

This is not authentic Honduran food. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The tortilla for the baleadas was undercooked, and the tortillas for the tacos flautas were also undercooked. On top of that, we waited over an hour for a zambo preparado. I wanted to give this place a try, but it was not worth it. Save your money—there are plenty of great Honduran spots nearby that serve authentic and delicious food.

This place does not deserve a star I have been here like three times and the las two times have been really bad. They girl taking the orders does not even pay attention to what she is doing. I told her more than 3 times what I wanted and she kept asking for my order. I have to be repeating myself over and over just because of her lack of understanding. And the worse is that when she brought us the drinks, she brought the wrong ones. I did not say any thing because I know sometimes we have bad days. But what really upset me was when she brought us the order of baleadas. We asked for baleadas de carne and she did not put the steak on them but she did charge us. We went and told her that our baleadas did not have steak and she got mad, and the one cooking aso got upset. Not coming here again. I’m very disappointed either way the experience I had at this place I was really happy to home in and try my home town food , waiting an hour for 2 orders of baliadas when a bunch of people walked in order their food and they order after me. And walked out with there food , my wife Got up to ask if everything was okay with our orders . The lady in the front answered her with an attitude, very very disappointed with the service great food thought
