Popped in cause I needed some coffee and this place is super cute.

Atmosphere is nice. You can sit inside or out and pet friendly.

Ordered a few coffees and although two of this things I ordered were not on the menu the young lady made them for me.

They also have pastries and sandwiches to order. If you are in the area you should definitely pop in.

Cute and cozy place in a cute neighborhood. The barista was very friendly, and both the latte (great flavor, not too sweet, & clearly made with care) and the pastry I got were amazing. All the pastries looked so good it was hard to decide which one. Also, I visited later in the day when many coffee shops have barely any pastry selection left, and Bakewell still had a good selection. Adding this to my list of favorite Denver coffee shops!

Me and my mom went here for the first time today and it was a very pleasant experience! The breakfast sandwich on homemade sourdough was absolutely delicious, we ended up ordering an entire loaf because it was so good, coffee was delicious definitely above average. We also ordered a homemade cinnamon roll which was amazing. I saw some reviews about pricing but honestly for a full breakfast plus 2 lattes, and a dessert, it was way less expensive then our usual breakfasts eating out and definitely higher quality, everything tasted like real homemade ingredients which is hard to find. Definitely a 5 star place and we will for sure be back!

As someone who remembers the last two iterations of cafes at this location and used to frequent the Nosh this place is a 180 but in good and bad ways.
My wife and I each got a breakfast sandwich. I would not order the brioche again — too much bread for a breakfast sandwich and too dry. The sourdough, however, is phenomenal. Unfortunately they gave me turkey when I ordered pastrami and I didn’t want to correct them so we didn’t get to try anything besides the turkey but it was good.

The carrot cake was well done but a little too sweet for us.

The biggest praise is this place now serves excellent coffee (HUCK) as opposed to the terrible stuff that used to be served here.

The ambiance, and prices, are elevated so it feels less like your local cafe but I wouldn’t say that’s a bad thing necessarily.

Will come back to try more but unfortunately they’ll always be compared to the nosh and their breakfast sammy is just not on par.

I would not personally recommend this bakery and coffee shop. Unfortunately, my experiences at Bakewell Bakery have been consistently disappointing. I have visited two to three times hoping my initial experience was simply an off day, but each visit left me with the same concerns.

To begin with, the pastries have often been very hard and did not seem fresh, despite being marketed that way. Fresh baked goods are one of the main reasons people visit bakeries, so this was particularly disappointing. The coffee has also been underwhelming. It consistently tasted quite bitter and did not seem properly balanced, which made it feel like it may not have been dialed in correctly.

The service has also been lacking. On multiple occasions, employees appeared to be sitting on their phones rather than assisting customers or maintaining the space. The overall atmosphere did not feel very welcoming or attentive. Additionally, the cleanliness of the shop raised concerns. During my last visit, there was visible dust in several areas, which made the environment feel neglected.

Another issue I noticed was the lack of consistency with the food. Some items were acceptable depending on the day and who appeared to be preparing them, but overall the quality varied significantly from visit to visit. Consistency is very important for any food establishment, and unfortunately that did not seem to be the case here.

I also noticed in response to other customer reviews that the owner, Lola, appears to react defensively to constructive criticism. While it is understandable for business owners to care deeply about their establishments, responding professionally and openly to feedback is an important part of maintaining a positive reputation and improving the customer experience.

Overall, after giving this bakery multiple opportunities, I do not feel confident recommending it to others. With improvements in product freshness, customer service, cleanliness, and consistency, it could potentially become a much better experience for customers. However, based on my visits so far, it is not somewhere I would choose to return.

The coffee is pretty bitter even with the extra syrup and sugar. It was very clean and the staff was so nice though!

I visited the shop on 02/03 at approximately 8:00 a.m. Upon entering, the barista was seated on her phone and did not acknowledge me until I verbally asked for assistance.

The coffee was acceptable but nothing notable; it had a slightly bitter taste, which may indicate it was not properly dialed in. I also tried a pastry, which was very hard and tasted as though it may have been from the previous day.

When I asked the barista about the breakfast items, she mentioned they were not very popular and instead recommended a pastry. Overall, the experience lacked attentiveness and professionalism, and the establishment appears to be in need of stronger management and oversight.

EDIT: I have been here 3 times and have met the “owners” and infact they were not the ones at the store this day. At “7:45am”

This is only the second time we’ve gone in. Didn’t have a great experience the first time as the food was just ok and really needed improvement. This time, I tried the chocolate croissant. It was really tough, hard to break apart. When I order a croissant I want the outside to be flaky and easy to break, delicate and the inside to be soft and easy to pull apart for eating, this was unfortunately not that. There was a large space between the two layers of the croissant, I couldn’t pull it apart easily, the chocolate was alright, maybe could’ve used more. The outside wasn’t super pretty, which is why I chose the chocolate croissant over the regular croissant, since at least the chocolate one had a chocolate drizzle over it. I don’t want this to come off as hateful or rude, but I do hope that the baker can maybe improve on their recipe or process for croissants. But if this is how they like them then to each their own I suppose.

The atmosphere was alright. It was super quiet in there. It would be nice if there was music playing throughout the whole cafe.

Will probably wait another year before going back to try it again.

The latte and brioche egg and cheese sandwich were good, but this pastry was incredible. It was much less busy than I would have thought for a Sunday morning at 50th and Regis. Go here, buy pastries!
