Social Profile:

When founders Jeremy Mandrell and Anne Ng set out from the Bay Area to San Antonio, they thought they’d left their baking careers for good. Then they started making and selling pastries at a farmer’s market on the weekends for the love of it and quickly developed a fan base. When they met local entrepreneur Charlie Biedenharn, that stand became Bakery Lorraine, an artisanal bakery that was named one the country’s best new bakeries. Since then, they’ve been recognized as one of the Top 100 Bakeries in the US by Food and Wine and nominated for best pastry chefs by the James Beard Foundation. Our philosophy is simple – we make fresh pastries that reflect our respect for the ingredients and the technique of our craft. Everyday.

Bakeshop with a patio serving sandwiches & an array of cookies, tarts & muffins, plus coffee.

Cool little restaurant/bakery/coffee shop. Once we walked in we were greeted and felt welcomed. Ordering was easy and the employees were extremely friendly. The Grilled Cheese with an addition of bacon was absolutely delicious. The combination of fontina and goat cheese was so delicious. The French toast was also fantastic. The pumpkin butter paired extremely well with the crispy but light bread. The deserts were also great. The canalé was very tasty. I didn’t personally taste the Cherry, Chocolate tiramisu, or the macarons. My partner did taste them and fell in love with the flavors. Everything we tasted was great. The outside seating was perfect with the slightly cool weather. Great place to stop

Very cutesy place. I had the oatmeal bake and it was divine!!! I also purchased a chai latte & I KNOW its made with cinnamon but the cinnamon was OVERLOAD. It was even all over the mug I was served.

The other ladies I went with also enjoyed their meals, one ordered a tomato soup with cheese toast & a cheese Danish. One lady loved the cheese Danish so much she bought another to take home. Lol! Another purchased a tart & another a chocolate croissant. We all enjoyed our lattes & one got the hot chocolate. Even though she didnt order the Mexican hot chocolate she stated it tasted like it. So maybe keep that in mind if you order!

Overall, the atmosphere was cute. Lots of plants & the walls are brick in the eating area. There is outdoor seating but it aas chilly outside so we sat in the dining area. Plenty of room at the time.

Maybe it was just me that had the bad experience but I don’t see what the big deal is about this place. I order my coffee and my food. I got a Matcha latte and a cinnamon roll. They gave me the cinnamon roll right away I don’t think they warmed it up. When I sat down to eat it, I asked one of the guys running by if they could warm it up for me. He said he’d be right back. I never saw him again. They took forever delivering our drinks because apparently they got the wrong number for the order or gave us the wrong number or something because she said there was a different number on her ticket then The one that they gave us for our table. My nephew‘s French toast looked delicious, my nieces breakfast plate looked good, even my sister said her avocado toast was good, though it looked questionable to me. I went back and ordered a Cobb salad and some macaroons. They said they cannot do the salad to go, so I just ordered it to the table and then boxed it myself. The salad was good. I had it later. also, because I was not very hungry at the time I had the macaroons later as well as the cinnamon roll which I could heat up at home in the microwave and it was so much better heat it up. I think this day was just kind of crazy and chaotic for them. I would try it again, but as I don’t live there and I’m rarely in town, I doubt that will happen. They don’t take reservations, even for the busiest day of the year. Which I find kind of crazy. It’s a seat yourself situation. And you can sit outside too, which is nice but there’s a lot of flies flying around. Sometimes the flies get inside. It’s also serve your own water, get your own napkins and silverware too. Other than that, the food that I tried was delicious Once it was served and once my cinnamon roll was actually heated up.

We had a great breakfast takeout experience from Bakery Lorraine in Boerne! The breakfast sandwiches were fresh and tasty, the fruit cups were crisp and refreshing, and the pastries—absolutely delicious. The boxed water packaging was a little quirky, but it did the trick. A lovely spot for a quick and satisfying morning bite!

The food is consistently great quality and good portions. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The acoustics carry inside and the heavy chairs are very loud when moved. Pleasant decor and the turnover on bussing tables quick!

I was here again for a business meeting and had the chef salad. It was very good!!! Fresh, large, and 1 dressing is enough even though it looks like it won’t be. It’s always clean and tables aren’t left dirty. I wish there was a bigger parking lot and more handicap spots or people would be more considerate of whether they really need it that day. I, 6 weeks out from having a knee replacement, had to walk from across the street and around the building. I lived, but if I wasn’t there for a meeting, I would’ve left.

Such a fun building and cute decor. More seating than expected. Indoor and out. Quick service. Order at counter, sit, they’ll bring your food. Restrooms to the left of the counter. Don’t forget to grab utensils. Water and glasses, salt and pepper, napkins and a few other things in the main seating area. Delicious food as expected from Bakery Lorraine.

What a swanky little spot. It was quiet. I sat outside and listened to the cicadies even at 1:00 in the afternoon and Julie was exceptional. She took care of everything and even noticed that I was hot and brought me some water. So sweet. I had a sandwich the turkey pesto. The bread was crisp and the cheese was melty and yummy. The soup was really good. It has a tomato basil and I couldn’t be here without tasting one of the desserts. So I had the cheesecake with berries and it was scrumptious

I loved sitting out on the patio eating my lunch the other day. I know it’s hot but there was a nice breeze, the vibe was chill and my salad was on point. I will definitely be back to try some of the baked goods.

The only reason to go here is for their sourdough (which the never have enough of) or to pick up good coffee beans. I understand why but the staff are all high school students- just noting because that’s not something you’d expect for such a high price point. You order at a counter and they ask for a 20-25% tip which I understand if there was any type of service. It’s basically a drive thru as far as service goes. I would be fine with all of this if the $21 BLT and “hearty” side salad was completely lacking. Old (or artificial) avocado, 4 sprigs of lettuce and (in tomato season) one single thin slice of tomato. The salad was a hand full of lettuce doused in basically just lemon juice. The dressing was far too acidic to comfortably eat. Just really disappointed when you overpay thinking you’re treating yourself then come to find out, you could’ve done it yourself.
