This was the Bsst Chocolate Cake I have ever had. What puts it over the top is that it not overly sweet. This was the perfect blend and harmony. Great job to the town of Madison as well. I was abke to secure parking on Makn Street without any meter parking, the way it should be. 90 minutes to visit and spend money at local businesses without thr worry of getting a ticket. I was giving so much praise about the chocolate cake that they forgot rk put the lemon bar in my to go bag. I called and they will have it for my next visit. Great customer service. I was on my way to Park Ave Club (Florham NJ) for a lunch meeting, and while driving my eye caught Bakehouse. I had a few minutes to kill (ofcourse I did), so I parked my car, walked in, took a whiff and was sold. Needless to say, I had Joe Murphy’s signature Brooklyn Blackout Cake (3 layers of Devil’s food cake, 2 layers of chocolate pudding, wrapped in a chocolate glaze and THEN coated in cookie crumble). Ordered the chocolate mousse. The crumbles on top are delectable. I wonder if they’re part of the black out cake which they’re famous for. Heard great reviews of the new providence location and was happy to find they were in Madison as well. Did not try the chocolate chip cookies but they looked delicious.

We visited this down today with the intention to enjoy the main street and have dinner. However this bakery caught my eye and I thought of giving a try. And I feel I would have regretted if didn’t have taken that impulsive decision to check this place out . Tried coffee which was great . Tried the lovely almond croissant. Almond raspberry cake slice was amazing and I would come back for it for sure. We picked few more pastries. All in all everything was delicious and it was worth delaying our dinner time for today. The girls here handling customer with a smiling face .

Came here on a Sunday around 2 for an afternoon coffee and treat. Had the almond chocolate croissant and my family had hot chocolate and scones. The scones were a bit dense and the chocolate croissant was hard not as light and flaky as I hoped. I still really enjoyed it and will come back to try again. The coffee was really tasty not too bitter and good amount of zing. Cozy atmosphere with 4 tables. Bathroom was very clean and nice design.

I ordered the sprinkled birthday cake for my son!! He loves sprinkles and vanilla sponge cake. This is a new shop and I was not disappointed -amazing moist cake! Beautifully decorated and at a base price that was reasonable. Please order from here for all events and I have had their fudge brownies – WOW delish!!! I’ll be back again in a few months!

I want to take a moment to recognize the manager — I believe her name was Savanna (or another S name, I’m so sorry I can’t remember exactly) — for truly going above and beyond.
Due to a last-minute mix-up, we accidentally ordered our cake from this location instead of the one we originally planned to pick up from. Even though transporting cakes isn’t something the store typically does, she went out of her way to help us problem-solve and made sure my husband received the cake without any issues.
Her kindness, flexibility, and willingness to help during a stressful moment meant so much to us. On top of that, the cake itself was absolutely amazing!
I also want to thank the owner for putting together the cake for us last minute!

Spectacular pastries, friendly staff & a tranquil atmosphere! I drop in every so often to treat myself to something special, and am always pleased with how consistently delicious everything is. I had the parm & leak pastry for the first time this morning, and I am blown away! The mushroom quiche & cinnamon roll are my regular treats, and they are always baked to perfection. Awesome! I visited Bakehouse on a whim and fell in love with their blackout cake. I decided to order a cake from them for an event and I am so pleased with our experience. I spoke with Savannah and she was so lovely, took my order perfectly and the experience was easy and simple. Everyone at the party loved the cake. It had a tender crumb and airy light buttercream. It was decorated beautifully! The recipient was very pleased. I will definitely order from Bakehouse again.
