Utilizing domestic products, authentic grilled cooking in our charcoal oven and refined side dishes that will take you on a trip through the savors of Asiatic coasts in a delicate fusion with the Caribbean Islands make BAJAU`S Cuisine a unique experience. Tendered by exceptional service and camaraderie in a privileged location, illuminated by the sunset and bathed in the dim light of our Caribbean moon, BAJAU is located on the Water Front (Malecón of Cozumel) 3 blocks away from the main square and Ferry dock.

The space is chic but comfortable, with ocean views and open windows when the weather allows. Live Christmas music adds to the experience, and it’s a nice touch that the sax player took requests. The staff is attentive throughout, including checking on food allergies. Even on Christmas, there was no set menu, allowing everyone in my party to order what they wanted.
Each meal starts with a complementary bread service that comes with butter and two unique spreads. For appetizers, my daughter and I ordered the beef empanadas and the caesar salad made table side, while my wife had the side salad. For our main courses, we order the surf and turf tacos, honey habanero salmon, and the fettuccine with blackened chicken. All of us enjoyed our meals. My daughter also ordered a specialty drink called the Zazil, which was unlike any gin drink she had ever had before.
Though we did not order them during this meal, we also love their corn soup and parmesan truffle fries.
With good food, a polished but easygoing atmosphere, and consistently solid service, BAJAU is a place we’re happy to return to every year we come to the island.
The steak was a different story. I asked for medium rare, and what I got was definitely not medium rare and just not done well. Texture and taste were disappointing — honestly my worst steak experience on the island so far.
Also, prices on the menu don’t match the bill. Drinks listed as 205 MXN were charged as 220 MXN.
Everything was great. The atmosphere was wonderful. I would definitely come back to this restaurant the next time I’m in Cozumel.
We will definitely return and highly recommend this restaurant!!
The cocktails are great. I had the special (magi mahi) and my wife had the picanya steak. Both dishes were fantastic.
They were out of the lava cake, which I was looking forward to, but it was the end of the night when we were there. The alternative dessert proved to be very tasty though- the apple dish.
The prices are quite elevated. So, just plan accordingly.
Oh and the empanadas as an appetizer— sensational..especially the chimichurri sauce they are served with! Yum!
Top place to stop for really good food and wonderful customer service!
