My top flavor list
1. Sour patch kids
2. Mangonada Extreme almost tied with #1
3. Tigers Blood
4. Bomb pop
They suggested flat top… so it doesn’t get messy… which was loaded with flavor, maybe no top = more flavor?
What shall I try next?
Old review:
idk… this place is really good low key… but the attention to detail here is out of the ordinary… I mean this place is really delicious and tasty! I love coming here it’s my second time!
The first time I tried Bahama Bucks was on this random food trailer thing by papa John’s. Which I tried tigers blood shaved ice which I will forever remember. I just got done from a 3 hour workout and I needed to reload carbs asap… and the guy in the trailer suggested I try that or sour patch shaved ice. I tried the tigers blood, which I was weirded out yet happy that the shaved ice had pickle juice and pickles… like weird but after that workout, you don’t even know the kind of dopamine that hit my head… pickle juice is like the holy grail to rehydrate… now the problem was that when I tried to review the food truck(first time trying Bahamas bucks) it was nowhere in the google maps. Luckily, I kept the spoon, which came branded “BAHAMA BUCK’S“ so I was able to find this place again on zhe googel mahps. So I found this place in Buda and came twice already. The way dopamine connect with emotions was wild… the first time i came to the buda location, I tried the opposite of what the guy at the trailer suggested. Sour patch kids shaved ice. For sizes, I chose avalanche. It was truly sour the first bite, then nothing but deliciousness… The avalanche size was enormous, I recommend it for 2 people not 1. Large is enough!
The sour patch kids sauce was everywhere, from the very top of the cup to the very bottom. The sauce was swirled around the inside of the cup. It even stuck to the styrofoam cup inside… it was not fun scraping around the styrofoam because who knows the health concerns that might bring… anyways it was so good, that I’d not say one word about it because the sugar is so good it’s best to stay quiet… hahaha…. Such a beautiful memory it was that good… anyways I tried the bomb pop today and I’m disappointed that the bomb pop should of been shoved into the red side rather than the blue side… sloppy work to me because look wise it’ll look better in blue…. At least to me but everyone has their own taste, I suppose. I rather have the red color of the pop blend into the red color of the shaved ice! Like I think that detail makes a big difference… I also did not like the bomb pop flavor…but not a deal breaker. I’ll just try another flavor! I’ve been eyeing the Mangonada extreme… I’ll try that next. Anyways this place is tasty. I feel like the customer should be thrown a party with like a personal your welcome name banner in the restaurant to feel appreciated here hahaha jk… like the cashiers could go above and beyond or at least trained to be! Which tipping here is enjoyable, they give you an option for 5 percent, which I always tip 5% so far… who knows who gets the tips anyways… I really like this place I just feel it’s unjust giving it a 5 star for being a tasty place. It takes more than just being tasty. I’m sitting next to the bomb pop shaved ice as it’s melting because it was disappointing.
This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues there. I rarely go to Bahamas because the service is poor almost every time, whether it’s the extensive wait times or the lack of care from some of the people working there, it is always something. I wanted to give the benefit of a doubt and give a little more grace since most working there are new to the workforce but one can only take so much. If you want your business to be taken seriously, maybe let the employees there know about proper customer service.
Not a mile down the road is an AMAZING, LOCAL sno-cone spot, Snowball’s Chance. It also has teenagers working there most days. They’re respectful, courteous, efficient, responsible and good at running the stand.
In case the managers need to know the date of my last visit: Sunday, Sept. 14th around 5PM
Great selection of drinks and combinations. Prices compare to other snack drink places so I can’t be mad, their smaller sizes are cheap. Love the blue Wavebender drink! Have tried the Strawberry Bliss, the Strawberry Freezecake, the Kokomoko, the Tropical orange smoothie, and the Mangonadas. Any sno with natural flavoring is THE ONE.
The store is located across the street from our granddaughter’s school and makes it so convenient to take her for after school treats.
