We arrived here for breakfast. There was a line but it moved fast. We ordered egg salad bagel sandwich, lox bagel sandwich and a garlic and butter sandwich. The bagels were outstanding – crunchy yet chewy. The egg salad was super fresh while the lox bagel was creamy and bright. The staff were nice and attentive. The hype is real – and they have a lot of bagel choices. The place is big and roomy, with a lot of tables.

Bagels are so good, with a strong variety of flavors, and their staff is so gracious and kind. After forgetting our muffin in our order, we went to ask about it and they were so apologetic and gave us two muffins! Made our day. Love this place forever!

This place is always busy, and we love to support local businesses around town. The bagels are great. We came in a few times recently. Once was for their anniversary special day. They cooked my eggs perfectly! Bagelry is always a good choice, unless you’re short on time.

You know what the single most important function of a bagel shop is? If you’re not sure, it’s to sell bagels to customers.
You know what the ENTIRE STAFF here would not do this morning? Sell bagels to customers. We stood inside for several minutes as the staff busied themselves with anything EXCEPT greeting customers- not just ourselves, there were other folks here too. Literally, not one of them could be bothered to even look up, make eye contact, and acknowledge the people waiting. No hello, no ‘we’ll be right with you’, nothing. Its a shame. I’ve been coming here every time I’ve come to town for the last 25+ years, and im not terribly sure there will be a next time. My advice, if they care, would be to hire staff that understand their value is only in the productivity and service they provide, and not so much in maintaining an aloof, smug demeanor. The product is great; the experience was so poor that it wasn’t worth enduring the people. What a bummer.

Got some bagels to go and so far I’ve only tried the sesame and it was fabulous! The scallion cream cheese was the perfect match. The bagels are a little crisp hey chewy, the perfect consistency. delicious!

Food: solid food, solid bagels. I always get the rosemary salt. My partner got his sandwich toasted and it became a bit tough so just keep that in mind for big groups. Chicken salad was meh, turkey is good, lox is best in terms of sandwiches.
Service: friendly, efficient.
Atmosphere: pretty chill. Lots of solo and small groups.
I can imagine a perfect way to ease into the day. Downtown is walkable and went on a weekday. Parking is paid street and can get busy but plenty when we went mid day.

Unfortunately, I’ve had multiple issues at the Bagelry recently! I’m disappointed after a manager poorly handled my refund request this morning. The online order system gives the option to delay your pickup. I got a text that my bagels were ready 10 minutes before my requested pickup time. It’s not the first time this has happened. Anticipating cold bagels, I called to request a refund. The manager asserted that if I want a fresh bagel, I should order in person. Why offer an option to specify your order pick-up time if your crew is “too busy” to attend to the option? I order online to avoid waiting in line or communicating with a cashier due to disability and hearing access issues. It’s not my responsibility to justify the reason I use your accessible ordering system when I’m complaining that you’re not operating the functions as they’re designed. There’s no reason the manager should have pushed back at my request. Weird to expect your customers to adjust ordering practices because your business volume increases on the weekends instead of effectively managing your staff to operate the functions you offer.

I am a bagel lover. When I give into grabbing one when traveling, I like to look for a local spot and check it out and support. My order is usually a normal or egg bagel, toasted, plain cream cheese, cucumbers, and sprouts. I asked if they had the ingredients and they did! So excited. To me, the options of bagels were- ok. Everyone was nice and the place was a well ran. But when I got to eating my bagel, I was disappointed. It was hard, seemed almost like day old honestly. I loved the sprouts and fresh cucumbers. But I would say this was bagel overall sucked. I might comeback to give it one more chance, but I wasn’t too impressed.

The Bagelry is the best Bagel place in Bellilngham. It can be busy at times, especially in the morning. Usually we order online and pick up the bagels later, but today we walked by, the line was short and moving fast. That is until someone called to order instead of using the online service. 10 minutes later the girl taking orders was still on the phone on a back and forth conversation with the same person. The line got longer and longer so we finally left to go order online and pickup later. Long story short, please order online for pickups!

This wonderful downtown Bellingham eatery offers the best lox and cream cheese bagel in the PNW. It’s worth getting off the interstate and dealing with local traffic and parking. There are few places worth making a detour just to eat a bagel at, but this is one of them. As good as anything in NYC. Don’t be put off by the neighborhood, its all interesting local color.
