I usually never post reviews, but Today I feel like I have to . I go to this place all the time all the girls there know me there by sight . They don’t know my name or anything, but They’re always happy to see me. I pretty much get the same thing every time. I even made them a special tip jar holder for them when they first got the place redone. Usually, I’ll pay with a certain amount with left over they can throw in the tip jar . But today all I had was 20s. No tens no one’s know nothing just 20s. Paid with the 20 no problem she gives him back three bucks. There was $10 missing. This is the woman that is never happy and that’s fine. I can deal with that but she talks to her coworker for way too long and then finally be grudgingly gives me the $10 I was owed and then starts with the you didn’t give me a 20 . I don’t believe you. Knowing all I had was 20s I know I absolutely 100% did give her a twenty. . It’s probably on camera . regardless she had an attitude . I don’t care how good the bagels or the coffee is that’s just plain rude to a regular customer. Gonna give this place a break for a while a good year at least. Kind of a drag,

Bagel World in Salem, MA is a good place to grab lunch relatively quickly & for a great price. They offer various kinds of bagels and numerous spreads to choose from. My favorite is a toasted “French toast” bagel with plain cream cheese. You can also choose more of a lunch meal, like chicken salad on a chive bagel. The options/combos seem endless. During the lunch hour, there’s usually a line inside at the counter & outside at the drive-thru, but they tend to move pretty quickly. Don’t be surprised, though, if you have to wait a bit to order and/or for your food to be ready to go. There’s a small table area if you want to eat there, but we’ve never done that so I can’t rate that aspect. Overall, if you’re looking for a well-priced, good lunch that’s not “fast food”, I can recommend Bagel World in Salem.

Update on 11/15 –
The person who was taking my order through the drive-thru this day was ABSOLUTELY RUDE!! It was almost near impossible to order with this person and she was extremely difficult while taking the order, I was making an order of 5 sandwiches and obviously everyone has modifications and this order taker was NOT having it. I actually HESITATE coming to this bagel world as EVERY interaction I’ve had has aways been bad here. My review below still stands, but the customer service here is AWFUL. I am not sure if they have grown accustomed to the college kids being rude or difficult? But I live in Swampscott and am an actual regular here, and am not a college kid and I truly would love to love my experiences here but I do not.
If you want REAL customer service, go to the one on Saugus those ladies there are actual sweethearts.

I placed a bulk order of about 40 breakfast sandwiches for a work event, and the experience was a disaster from the very beginning. First, I wasn’t allowed to email the order in, I had to call it in over the phone. Not exactly confidence-inspiring for such a large order.
When I arrived to pick up the order the next day, I was completely ignored at the counter for at least five minutes while other customers were helped, despite the store being nearly empty. I literally had to jump and wave my arms to get someone’s attention. That should’ve been my second red flag.
When it finally came time to pay, the employee clearly had no idea how to operate the register. She entered the order multiple times, cancelled it, restarted, and fumbled around for a good ten minutes just trying to ring me up.
Then came the tax issue. My employer is a tax-exempt organization, and when I asked to have the taxes removed, the employee miscalculated them and did the math wrong trying to adjust the total.
I then asked for an itemized receipt for my expense report and the answer was a flat-out “no.” I asked for a simple breakdown of the cost per item. Again: “no.” It’s 2025 – what kind of business can’t print a receipt or even provide basic pricing information?
As if the service wasn’t bad enough, the food itself was awful. The bagels were dry, bland, and honestly hard to choke down.
Bagel World failed at every single step — ordering, customer service, checkout, and food quality. I will never be returning, and I’d strongly advise others to take their business elsewhere.

I got a caprese sandwich, on sesame seed bagel. Cream cheese on chocolate chip bagel toasted so the cream cheese melts a little bit, & a Large iced cappuccino. Always fresh, and a line out the door. Thankyou Bagel world!!!

I really liked this place. The options and how you can customize the Bagel was really neat. Though I do not think the ad enough jelly but that’s a me thing. The cream cheese and chives does tasted great and went amazingly with the bacon eggs and cheese I got.
Their garlic Bagels didn’t hand that much of a garlic flavor to them. The flavor was very light but was nice and tender and tasted good
