Bagel World
I recently had a meeting at Mass General Hospital and Emilie went above and beyond to accommodate us at the last minute.
Here’s what stood out:
Exceptional service:
Emilie kept calm and friendly throughout the process, reassuring me with a simple, “Hunnie, no problem.”
Timely execution: She cut up over 25 bagels on short notice, ensuring everything was ready for our meeting flow.
Thoughtful coordination:
She organized a box of Joe to go so our team could refuel on the move without missing a beat.
Warm, personable demeanor:
Greta-style service all around—efficient, cheerful, and reliable.

Northshore bagel chain known for its simple and affordable bagels.
I’ve been venturing outside Boston to try some of the top bagel spots praised by locals and NY/NJ transplants. The consensus is that Bagel World ranks within the top 5 in the GBA. At first glance, it looks like your typical suburban bagel shop with basic flavor options. However, these hand-rolled bagels surprised me not only with their price but also their texture. I had my fair share of NY bagels, and I found the texture of these bagels very similar to the ones I had in Manhattan. Granted, some of the varieties were a bit doughier than what I usually prefer. Most of their sandwiches were also under $7, which is almost unheard of in Boston, where sandwiches typically cost around $12-15.
Among the sandwiches I tried, my favorites were the Roast Beef & Smoked Turkey sandwich and a simple bagel sandwich with strawberry lite cream cheese. Despite the low price, they were surprisingly generous with the toppings. They also offered some unique options, like the Pulled Pork sandwich and the Bagel Caprese sandwich. Both were enjoyable, but the earthy flavor of the sprouts and other vegetables in the Pulled Pork sandwich didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
Definitely the best value bagels I’ve found in the state so far. Due to the scarcity of good bagels in Boston, all the new bagel shops seem to aim for “exclusive” and artisanal bagels, which usually come with a hefty price tag. While Bagel World might not draw the typical Boston foodie crowd, their bagel sandwiches are perfect for everyday commutes. I only wish they had a location closer to the city. But if I’m ever passing through the area, I’ll definitely be grabbing one of these bagels.

Me and my mom come here almost weekly because we love the bagels. Today we had a mortifying interaction. I ordered a BLT sandwich with pickles and cheese. The lady started putting egg on it and I kindly corrected her. She started accusing me of saying egg and got very aggressive. There was also a manager right next to her who didn’t even say anything. All she would’ve had to say was oh sorry about that. Instead she tried arguing with me about it. We will not be coming back here. You lost two loyal customers. I’ve never written a review before but me and my mom are so baffled by this unnecessary interaction

Nice place to get a bagel and coffee. I appreciated that they had a drive through, and TWO lines inside. One line was express for bulk bagels, cream cheese or two coffees while the other line was for ordering sandwiches. They’ve got their system down and they keep people moving.

Bagels are delicious but they could really use a lot more tables to sit down. Also, they need a better ordering system. You should be able to order and pay then wait for your food at the end of the counter. As it is, you order, wait for the food at the register while other people give their order and then pay when your food is done.

Horrible service. Waited over 20 minutes in the regular line so I could order a dozen bagels and have them cut. When I got to the register the lady told me I had to wait for them to finish the never ending line before they would cut my bagels! Absurd!! That’s why I waited in the regular line and didn’t go in the express line. She was so rude and annoyed to be helping anyone at all

Ordered on line from the Newbury Street, Peabody store this past weekend. On line, the pulled pork sandwich is described as “pulled pork with Jamies River BBQ sauce and veggies” – and the photo shows tomato, sprouts and cheese, So therefore, I did not “add” any of these things while placing my order. They served me a different bagel that I did not order, along with only plain pulled pork. NO sauce that the description states, and NO veggies or cheese. When I called to complain, they said you have to add everything for an additional price or it comes plain. This would be fine if the description did not say that it included these items. All they could do is argue. Terrible customer service along with false advertising.

Bagel World is the real deal. The bagels are always fresh, chewy, and have that perfect crunch on the outside. I usually grab an everything bagel with cream cheese or a bacon, egg, and cheese, and it hits the spot every time. The portions are big, prices are fair, and they get you in and out quick even when it’s busy. It’s definitely one of my go-to spots in the morning. If you’re in Peabody and want a legit bagel, this is the place.

To start, when ordering the girls were not welcoming and at the window, their attitude was still poor. After I ordered, I had asked how much it was and they said “idk til you get to the window”. But had I known I was paying $1.50 for this “extra cream cheese” then I wouldn’t have gotten it, because why is this almost the same price as a breakfast sandwich???? This is my 3rd poor experience at this location, seems like management hasn’t worked on their workers.
