I visited Baek Ban with two friends and we ordered the short rib stew, bulgogi, and ginger chicken soup. Overall, everything was really good — the flavors were rich and satisfying. The only dish that fell a little short at first was the ginger chicken soup; it didn’t have much flavor when served, likely because it hadn’t been cooked or stewed quite long enough. Interestingly, it tasted much better the next day after the flavors had a chance to develop. My only other minor gripe is that while the portions would be perfect for most people, I’m a bigger guy and found myself still a bit hungry afterward. Otherwise, it was a great experience with delicious food and a nice atmosphere.

I ordered the LA galbi and galbi-jjim — both were flavorful and cooked well, though the meat portion was a bit on the smaller side.
The side dishes were fresh, balanced, and refilled without hesitation when I asked.
Everything tasted homemade, not too salty or oily, which I really liked.
The restaurant itself feels clean, modern, and casual — perfect for lunch or dinner with friends or family.

This is more of a self service place. Order at the counter, you done your own table, after you are finished, you take the dishes to a rack.

The food here is clean, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. The portions are very generous, so even though the price isn’t on the cheaper side, it feels completely worth it. Everything tastes fresh and authentic, with a great variety of side dishes that make the meal feel complete. The food was great. Taste was what we were looking for. Reminds me of old fashion neighborhood restaurants in Korea that do simple straight forward comfort food.
The banchan was decent. Nothing mind blowing but solid.
The main dishes, spicy pork and spicy galbi, were the real stars. The spicy pork portion was very generous. The spicy galbi was not as large but that is to be expected given the difference in cost of ingredients and the similarities in price. Hard to make those economics work.
Definitely will be back.

This is how Korean food should taste like. The taste is just right. No fusion BS. Just traditional Korean food made right with lots of side dishes. Lots of korean restaurants these days are really bad, tasteless and lost its way. This is food is what remember growing up. The sides are favorful , fresh and made well. The main dish packing with huge favors. With Korean food its either its hit or miss. This is a hit. Vegetarian mix rice is a hit with root vegetables that is often times missing from other korean spots. We all know the texture of the rice is key to mixed rice bowls. They definitely use the right rice. No jasmine rice or Basmati rice Its korean sticky rice where all favors sticks to the rice mixture which make the mixed rice delicious and favorful . No cutting corners in the ingredients they use. No cutting this or that to appeal to non koreans. Straight up authentic Korean that I grew up with . When Korean kitchen tries to appeal to the non koreans they are taking the essentials and heart out of the cuisine that make the food so good and favorful. This place is now my go to place when I crave Korean.

Tasted like a homemade meal with generous portions. The banchans are flavorful. Even the side soup for bubulgi is delicious with dried fish chunks in it. The Army Stew is funky in the best way with those deeply fermented kimchi. We got there around 6 pm on Sunday, there was a bit of a backup of orders, they communicated clearly and set the wait expectations, which I appreciated. Everything is self-service. The dumplings was only alright, but everything else exceeded my expectations.

We went to this Korean spot that serves rice meals. I ordered the spicy squid and my husband got the spicy pork. Both were really delicious and came with lots of side dishes. The portions were filling. It’s all self-service, so you order at the counter, they give you a little device that beeps when your food is ready, then you pick it up yourself. After eating, you put your tray on a rack. Simple setup, good food.
