Pretty good Louisiana style menu with sociable service and acceptable accommodations. There is fair amount of variety on the menu, from platers, wraps, burgers, and Po-boys to salads, sides, and deserts. For those with a more pedestrian taste, the burger options have sufficient variety and the quality is quite good. At first glance, presentation is nice but looked like light portions, but in reality it was substantial and filling. The Gator Tail appetizer was fried to a crispy, golden brown with the typical slightly chewy meat. The gator sauce, a cream cheese & pepper jelly blend with green food coloring is delicious but would be better without or with much less coloring. The Andouille Po-Boy was a more generous portion with a nice spiciness to the andouille on a grilled, fresh French roll. The spiciness was a good compliment to the fresh veggies and mayonnaise. I added the mushrooms and it was a good compliment but would have been really good with mushrooms, peppers, & onions like a Philly style sandwich. The beignets are a very delicious dessert pastry with a crisp exterior and soft interior.
Atmosphere is just so, so. Being attached to a Hotel has its drawbacks, like the lobby bathroom arrangement & such. Not a huge space, but has decent seating.

Nia our waitress was awesome! Now let’s talk about the food! Best collards ever! I got the classic burger and you can tell the meat was fresh! So tasty and the bun grilled perfectly! We had the potato skin app and tried the gator sauce after the initial shock of the color I couldn’t get enough!!! Hubby had the wings and was very impressed!!!! Homemade ranch was the bomb! A+! Definitely try this place if you haven’t! We will go there anytime we’re in town! We don’t get food this good often while traveling for work!

I came here while in town on business, the restaurant is attached to the hotel I was staying at and was highly recommended by the lady at the front desk. It doesn’t look like much on the outside but inside it has a pretty nice setup with a good size restaurant area and a separate room where the bar is located. I went with three co-workers and everyone was pleased with their food and service. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. The only things I was unhappy with are that they are closed on Monday and you can’t get frog legs as a side, only an entree. The gator bites were awesome! I definitely recommend checking this place out for a taste of Louisiana in Virginia.

Not enough staff. Shrimp and flounder were saturated with grease, so much that the batter was mushy. I believe in a hurry to warm grease up and not prepared correctly. As the bake potatoes were still hard. Coleslaw was dry cabbage.
Hushpuppies were extra brown on the outside however cold in the middle. Visited at approximately 5pm on Thursday night. Staff had very little concern with food, more of a locals gathering spot.

Arrived at 630pm for dinner. Shortly after arriving the band started doing their sound check. It was incredibly loud. We ended up going outside to eat. When the salmon arrived (which was the special) it wa so salty I couldn’t eat it. The collards were even worse. The waitstaff did bring me a burger and took the salmon off the bill. No additional concessions were made. Won’t be back

Wonderful finish to an awesome week at Occoneechee State Park Cabins. We had the Alligator and Bacon Cheese Fries Appetizers and they are DELISH! The Gator sauce is a unique and yummy, even on fries! We ordered Prompt and Friendly service, our server Melanie was excellent and personable. The time was Noonish, Our food was hot and fresh, Blues played while we enjoyed our burgers, I recommend the “Slap Ya Mamma” Burger, though I wouldn’t advise it :), the Collard Greens are BOSS! Smiles all the way around the table and the restaurant was clean. We’ll be taking a drive back sooner than later, it’s worth the Hour.
