A small, authentic coffee shop with a really unique charm.
The coffee is excellent, with a variety of interesting and unusual flavor options that you don’t often find elsewhere. The desserts and snacks are also delicious, and there’s a great selection of specialty coffee beans and related products to buy.
The hot chocolate deserves a special mention — it’s incredibly rich and tasty.
The atmosphere is cozy and interesting, making it a nice place to relax and enjoy your drink.
That said, it can feel a bit untidy at times, and parking is quite limited, which can be inconvenient.
Still, it’s a great spot for coffee lovers who appreciate quality and character.

Great little coffee shop. The food is amazing. The coffee is outstanding. The building is small so you become friends with everyone really quick. Must try.

Tried Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii for the first time! I had the bacon egg & cheese Jack’s Favorite, it was okay, but a little bland for me and I wish the bread had been toasted. My husband got the Big Body Island Bowl (açaí) and thought it was way too sweet, but the fruit toppings were super fresh. I had the iced pumpkin latte (pretty good!) and he tried the Coconut Dream Lemonade, which was also on the sweeter side. Overall, we’d give it 4/5 – good drinks and food, just a little sweeter and plainer than we usually like. Might tweak our choices next time! ☕️

Really Cool little coffee shop.I only put four stars for the atmosphere.Because some of the customers are a little snobby. Other than that, the workers get their job done. The sandwiches we had were absolutely amazing! Definitely recommend I got my coffee black. And I got the traditional Hawaiian coffee.
And I couldn’t be happier!

Great coffee shop not too far from the oceanfront. Located in an old house, it gives a locally owned vibe (but after looking it up, it is actually a franchise that got it’s start in Hawaii). Also the prices aren’t bad, especially considering the cost of eggs these days … a 3-egg and cheese bowl was only $4.50.
I ordered the crustless broccoli & 3-cheese quiche, which is basically a souffle. It was light and fluffy with a few slices of onion. It is served with berries, which I expected a berry or two as a garnish. However, I was pleasantly surprised as it was a healthy serving of banana slices, strawberries, and blueberries. 10/10!
Bathroom: 3/5
Clean: Yes
Changing Table: No
Add’l Notes: There is a single unisex bathroom. If you’re short, you’ll have a tough time using the mirror ☺️

Had a really good smoothie from here. They did have vegan protein powder as well as vegetarian based protein powders. And they also did have several vegan Bakery options as well. It was very busy when we went in the morning but it wasn’t too loud where we couldn’t have a conversation the staff was very friendly and we were able to joke with one another. If I’m in the area I will absolutely be going again

Still had an awesome coffee experience. This coffee shop was incredibly small, little room to park, probably tight for wheelchairs. There was room outdoors to enjoy our coffee. Coffee and banana breads were amazing!

Down in VA Beach for one of our kid’s indoor track events. Just down from the facility is this small spot, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii. Indeed, coffee was great, and so was the food. Had a breakfast burrito and taco. Portions large, and so was the flavor. Food was prepared quickly, and staff was great. Restaurant is tight for seating, ordering and waiting on food because it is an appropriately popular joint to go; however they do a decent job managing the chaos. If you’re not patient with it, you’ll be frustrated, but if you have patience, you’ll focus on the product and service delivery which is fantastic! I’ll be back!

Very nice staff and very accommodating. Usually hate getting coffee from coffee shops because they are too sweet too bitter BUT this coffee was amazing and the girl behind counter was extremely helpful to make one for me just perfectly. Definitely recommend!
