Rediscovered Backwoods in Spring 2025. I was a few days before their one month remodel. The remodel is really great. The two pool tables, three dart boards and a golf video game give us games when we want. Lots of TV’s which are positioned to allow for conversation. The bartenders are all attentive and friendly. Even the owner Michelle is willing to greet and converse when she is there. The outdoor / indoor area is welcome addition.
Since they do not serve food, dogs who are well behaved are welcome. A rare welcome feature.
I would like them to offer bar snacks. Yet, all in all a great updated addition to East Sherman Avenue here in Cd’A. A comfortable neighborhood bar.

Karaoke here on Monday night is really good. A lot of great singers. This place has a rugged class to it, a communal charm…Its comfortable without pretentiousness. As for the people that work there, Harper is a kind. Ragan is really smart and cool. Tj has the best flair and style points. Cassie is amazing and really understands people. Mariah is great conversation and attention to detail. Bailey’s charm is intoxicating. Sorcia is cool even though she roots for the greenbay packers (Go Bears). Roxie sometimes shares her snacks and is a friend. I love being here

Was in town for a short visit and visited Backwoods with friends. Got super amazing service from Roxie, and considering I don’t drink, she came up with fun options for me. Made me addicted to Winter edition Red Bull! Highly recommend as welcoming to non drinkers as well as regulars!

Backwoods has come a long way from its days as the Hog Fish. After some extensive renovations, the vibe and atmosphere have changed tremendously. Great bartenders like Roxie are always inviting and energetic. It’s simply a fun place to hang out and chill or play some bar games. A staple of East Sherman.
