I’m not eating my food so might as well leave my review now. The food is all “premade” they kept saying, as in they can’t remove pickles from the cuban sandwich. I didn’t expect the Cuban to be great, but it was hard to even take a few bites. The pulled pork has no flavor, but tastes off. Ham is tasteless. This might be the worst sandwich I’ve ever eaten. Kids chicken strips were fine, macaroni wasn’t good per the kids. Fries were fine. Husband said the teriyaki bowl was pretty good.
The line was unnecessarily slow because there was one cashier for everyone and yet people standing behind the counter doing nothing. You could see stacks of the food options heated and just piled up behind the counter… ugh. Absolutely wouldn’t recommend.

Backlot Express is just okay. We were there when it was not very busy and the food took a long time and one meal was incorrect. The teriyaki chicken bowl was pretty good, but did not come out hot at all. The wookie cookie is cute, but lacking. The oatmeal cookie itself had good flavor but seemed stale. The cream in the middle was overly sweet. I would not order this again, but I was glad I tried it.

I had high expectations for this cookie and was really let down.

I saw this on social and immediately wanted to try it. My hope was that it would be soft and chewy cookies with cream cheese frosting in the middle…but I was wrong.

The cookies here are on the crunchier side. As an oatmeal cookie lover, I do prefer them on the softer and chewier side. And because these were sandwiched with buttercream frosting, the eating experience was a challenge. Trying to bite through this cookie was just causing a huge mess with buttercream frosting spilling out all the sides.

Having had the Carrot Cake Whoopie Pie from Trolley Car Cafe earlier in the day, my expectations were high, but this cookie truly was a let down and would rather have the whoopie pie 10x over.

If you love a crunchier oatmeal cookie and prefer a softer buttercream frosting, then this may be the cookie sandwich you should grab. I on the other hand will pass on this for my next Disney trip.

this has to be one of the most overrated diners at disney world. the lines were atrocious; we queued 20 minutes just to order and then a further 20 minutes to get our food. the tenders were cold but tasted good. the chips were warm but were underseasoned. the wookie cookie was decent and was definitely the best part of the meal.

Backlot Express was the perfect lunch spot during our day at Hollywood Studios! I had the bacon cheeseburger, which was juicy and packed with flavor. My brother got the chicken and fries, and he couldn’t stop talking about how crispy and well-seasoned they were. I also tried the Hawaiian Roller Coaster Punch—super refreshing and fun, especially in the Florida heat!

The service was quick, the restaurant was very clean, and the whole experience felt relaxed and low-key, which was a nice break from the hustle of the park. It was easy to find a table, and the movie set-style theming made it even more enjoyable. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re looking for good food, fast service, and a chill atmosphere!

Don’t order the burger, unless you like really dry, overcooked burgers. Pickles would have helped mask it, but they didn’t have pickles. The BBQ pork burger my husband got was a bit better. The fries were good. Lots of shade was nice. You are right behind the Indiana Jones theatre, so loud booms and bosses if you’re there during a show. Not necessarily bad, just an FYI.

Ridiculous. All I asked for was chicken tenders without ranch — literally don’t add one ingredient. They refused and made me buy plain tenders instead. At theme-park prices, you’d think they could manage basic customer service. If they can’t even leave ranch off chicken, the place isn’t worth your money or your time.

Trying to enjoy my sons wish trip and they can’t accommodate food choices where the customer is supposed to be right but not at this place. Shame on Hollywood Studios .

Backlot Express is a remnant of the old Backlot in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, focusing on a quick service meals that can be grabbed and ate very quickly in the park.

The service is pretty good, there are many kiosks open and available for getting meals, and the food comes out good. There’s a lot of seating available here, making it perfect for families.

As for the food, it’s alright. Nothing outstanding or high quality, but generic quick service food you’d find elsewhere. I’d say its comparable to mass batch defrosted foods, but it does its job well to satisfy any hunger and the prices are reasonable. One thing that might stand out is their offerings of unique meals during special days, such as Star Wars Waffles or Christmas themed snacks to pick up.

Perhaps some of the best park food we found during our trip. Scarfed it all down at around 4pm local time. Ordering was quick with courteous staff and there’s plenty of seating. BBQ pork burger and bacon cheese burger were ample. The kid’s meal chicken strips had such a good portion that my chicken finger chomping kid couldn’t finish (comes with soda, cookie and fries). Rice bowl chicken had a monstrous size to it as well. I had the SW chicken salad and could barely finish. The best part was the condiment offerings on almost any kind and your drinks are refillable at the stations to use on the way out. No pics of food as we had skipped lunch and worked up a “park” walking appetite. Had to put some chicken strips in the backpack for later

TL;DR: Backlot Express at Hollywood Studios offers delicious food, reasonable prices, and plenty of seating. Pro tip: kids’ meals are filling, and the gingerbread cheesecake is a must-try!

Backlot Express is a fantastic spot to grab a bite at Hollywood Studios. The food was delicious, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable—especially considering how much food you get with a kids’ meal (a great option even for adults). The ample seating made it easy to find a spot, even during a busy day.

For the quickest experience, order through the Disney app, grab a table, and wait for your food to be ready. The highlight of my meal was the gingerbread cheesecake—it was absolutely sublime and a perfect treat. Highly recommend stopping here for a tasty and convenient meal.
