Such a lovely breakfast spot in Windsor! I went early in the morning and the ambience was very cozy and welcoming. The place has an old-school charm that makes it feel really comfortable. They even served a welcome coffee, which was a really nice touch. The lady who served us was very sweet and the food was really, really good. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great breakfast spot in Windsor.

I’ve been going to Back Road for many years now and i always order the same thing for breakfast, Eggs Benedict.. This morning i noticed a new cook and was a little worried about my order. When i received my order it looked good until i tasted the potatoes. I don’t usually complain but this morning i had to because they were cold. Then i looked over to the eggs and noticed only 1 yolk. I’m not sure what happened to the other one, no yolk what so ever. Either way he either cooked one egg or broke the other but there was no sign of a second egg.. Very disappointing. With literally only 3 people in the place food should have been cooked properly and served hot, no excuse.. And to top it off it seemed like the cooked didn’t even care.. Bring the old cooks back…

I’ve been here a few times for breakfast and it wasn’t too bad. Ordered a Philly Beef Melt this time and it was not good. The meat was rubber like and very chewy. Surprisingly they don’t give you an “au jus” sauce for dipping. The table we sat at was sticky and not wiped down properly. My son ordered steak and eggs and had no complaints other than they brought the wrong drink. Overall not a great experience unfortunately.

Went to see how an old favorite place was with new owners. Pleasantly surprised. Food was good. Inside has been redecorate d. All in all we will go back.

Use to be better, bright cheery and friendly. New owners have changed the atmosphere. It’s lacks the lustre it once had. The old waitresses were chatty and treated you like family. The new ones are just, there. The food quality at least did not diminish, still excellent with a great variety. Will definitely return but it’s not the same.

This place is popular and for good reason. I’m always so happy to find a place that is comfortable to dine on my own and this was a good find for me. Staff is super friendly and excellent at their jobs. My food came out quick and hot. The peameal bacon and home fries with onions were delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try more like the clubhouse or tuna melt and homemade soup.
