I will be dreaming about the Texas Outlaw Burger for the foreseeable future! This is our favorite date night spot. The food is amazing, everything smoked in house, BBQ sauce made in house, always fresh and delicious. Ive tried several of their dishes but keep coming back to my favorites. The waiters are super friendly, the atmosphere is very Texas, and the prices are great for all the food you get!

The service was excellent and the food is very good. This restaurant is very expensive, though. Our server was pleasant, efficient, and very attentive. There is an option for how the sliced meats are served – lean or “juicy”. I chose the lean option, and the brisket was a bit dry. Other than than, I enjoyed the meal. The one thing that would help as far as atmosphere is concerned would be some kind of sound dampening; the place is pretty loud and something to reduce the echo would be appreciated.

We came here for an early 4 pm Father’s Day dinner because it’s a favorite of my parents. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark. Several items were forgotten or incorrect — missing drinks, sides, dressing, and my sandwich came without the gravy it was supposed to have on it according to the menu description. We had to flag down servers multiple times to fix missing items and refills were slow to come.
When the bill arrived we looked it over and as it was being signed the owner came over asking us to leave for waiting customers. When we explained we’d spent a lot of time waiting for our food and missing items. She didn’t seem to care she just cared about us leaving. We told her we just received the bill she said the server told her otherwise, which felt dismissive. My Dad just starred at her in shock since she was literally standing in front of the bill being signed complaining that we have had it for a while. We waited longer for missing items we ordered then they waited for the bill to be signed.
The food was OK. Mac and cheese seemed soggy. Ribs looked good. My husband enjoyed them. They give large portions. Has the BBQ smell at the restaurant and after I got home I still smelled like the restaurant.
Also worth noting — one of the emergency exits was blocked by a table and when customers are sitting at the table it was even more blocked. Usually against the law at other businesses.
There were so many other customers waiting I don’t know how they even helped them all. The restaurant isn’t that large. The parking lot can’t handle that many people either.

Not bad. Sunday noon time lunch. So, it’s not as busy as a Saturday night. Wait time was normal. Waitress new her stuff. Unfortunately, there are no scallop potatoes like their other restaurant. Bit smaller but sat down ate and had a good time with a company of 3. Restrooms clean, prices as expected. Had to have the pork ribs tender and pulls right off the bone. Spouse had county fried steak able to cut with fork so tender also. Kids meal, I guess, was good, no leftovers. Not 2 bad.

My family and I went to the Back 40 for the first time today and it was a great experience! The service was prompt and friendly. The food was outstanding! I don’t like brisket. I have tried it several times in my life. My husband ordered it and gave me a bit to try. Y’all, I would order it. It was that good! My BBQ chicken salad was delicious as well. Oh, and the banana bread was warm and tasty! Our little one chowed down on her sliders and mac n cheese. We will be back for sure!

I wanted BBQ so bad, for weeks I wanted a decent spot to satisfy that good BBQ craving. I tried several places throughout the weeks leading up to this place. Here, I found on accident, since my friend I was going to visit in just a few streets away off this exit.
I went and picked her up and tested out this BBQ. OMG it is pretty darn good. I like the pork ribs flavor but its a bit fatty. I prefer dry ribs normally but these were great. We went down the list of the sides to try and every single one hit. Was it my cravings being satiated or pure deliciousness? I guess I won’t know until I visit again.
The staff was great and was in no hurry to get us to order and leave. Let us ask questions and gave honest answers (as far as we could tell) and also… during our near the closing hour had an impromptu disney sing along with an amazing server.
Will definitely be back when I drive that direction… I can’t wait.

Great food and nice vibe. We ordered the bbq pork ribs, juicy brisket, garlic mashed potatoes, fried okra, BBQ chicken with mac-n-cheese, and the mini sliders. All the food was really good. The kids just loved the brisket. They said it was melting in their mouth. The garlic makes potatoes are very good as well.
The only negative I withhold say was that the corn bread. I would opt for a different option next time.

Ordered the ribs and bbq beans with potato fries and cornbread through doordash. Ribs tasted boiled with no smokey flavor at all and even the bbq sauce used on the ribs was bland. BBQ beans had no bbq sauce in them and was basically just some pinto beans with no seasoning. Even the cornbread was bland. Only thing that was ok was the potato fries (wedges) and that’s because we put ketchup on them. 10/10 would not recommend. Big waste of money.
