I absolutely love this place! I really enjoy taking my Ukrainian girlfriend here who knows authentic Slavic cuisine! Every time she eats her it puts a big smile on her face that I can never get tired of seeing! I love their sweet and savory pierogis and also their medavic cake also known as honey cake! Those ladies really know how to cook and bake!

We are so happy we found a place that sells pierogis near us! The inside has a beige, white and gold color theme and is very cozy inside. The people working here are very kind. The food came out fast and hot! It was delicious! We had the Baba Special which had potato pierogis, kielbasa sausage and dill pickles. We also had the cheddar and potato pierogi. Both of those were had pan fried. For dessert we had the sweet cherry pierogis (steamed). Definitely coming back ❤️

Everything served in this place is authentic. This is how Ukrainian/Russian/ European food is supposed to taste like. Food was real deal good. Service a bit slow. Only 1 waitress on a Sunday. Atmosphere very pleasant. Kompot could have been in bigger cups.

Overpriced for what you’re getting, although it is very tasty. 6 miniature pierogies for nine dollars. We also ordered french fries which came long after the food was gone. I asked for water that never came. And in spite of us being very friendly, outgoing and trying to engage, not a single one of the young ladies would so much as smile back. It was a long wait for the food. We were told that they had a rush, shortly before we got there, but during our time, we were only one of three tables. One of those tables already had their food. On that note, that table happened to be a table of about 5 or 6 elderly women. When they left, one of them fell right outside the front door knocking over a decorative planter. My partner and I ran outside to help. Luckily the woman was all right and we got her into a chair so she could catch her breath before moving on. We also lifted up the planter and put it back in its stand. We didn’t get so much as a thank you from the owners of the restaurant, who, even though it happened about 15 ft straight in front of them through a glass window, didn’t come out to even see if the woman was all right. In fact the only time someone did come outside was to be quite annoyed about having to sweep up the dirt from the planter that are toppled. I do have the feeling that this is going to be one of those ‘trendy places” that makes it in spite of themselves and not “because”of themselves. My overall experience was that I would never go back again. A tasty bite of food but I left hungry of both stomach and soul.

I paid $41 dollars for this stuff it’s so bad I couldn’t feed it to my dogs. The food on there menu and the food I got are completely different. I know what pierogis look like and taste like . What they sent me was not the pierogis they show in the picture on their menu. Also the chicken cutlets with mashed potatoes the potatoes had no mushroom gravy they put grilled onions the potatoes were the worse potato’s I’ve ever had it’s like they mashed then with water. And the waffle dulce de leche again not what they show in the picture I got something with pistachios on them, which I cannot eat pistachios I have a peanut allergy the pierogies were sitting in bacon fat, so greasy was dripping off of them. The cutlet was some type of mashed meat. Nothing like I’ve ever had in my life. I’m so upset. I’m very sick right now so I ordered from this place, I wanted to try it for so long. What a complete disgusting disappointment. I don’t know these reviews have to be fake. This food is nothing and I mean nothing like they show in the picture. The taste quality is absolutely horrendous. I’m shocked. I’m upset. I’m out $41 and I’m too sick to go anywhere to get any other food.

Today was my second time at Baba’s Pirogies after about a year. Unfortunately, I had the same impression as the first time, mainly because of the staff.
When I walked in, there was no server in the dining area, and an older woman started shouting from the kitchen “Who is it?” in Ukrainian. I am a native Ukrainian speaker, and the tone felt unfriendly. The waitress also seemed very tired and almost disappointed that I decided to eat here rather than leave. I ordered borscht, potato pierogi, and took two desserts to go: the honey cake and the Kyiv waffle roll dessert, as well as frozen cherry pierogi.
The honey cake is absolutely amazing — truly delicious and my favorite. The waffle roll tastes good, but it was almost empty inside, with cream only at the very beginning, which makes it feel like you’re eating plain waffle and affects the overall experience. I don’t want to hurt the rating with a bad review, but I kindly ask management to seriously address the staff’s attitude toward guests. The food is great, but because of the service, it doesn’t really make me want to come back.

The pierogies were tasty, portions are average, overall not bad. I also wanted to try the “taste of childhood” and bought a wafer roll with condensed milk. Unfortunately, it was empty inside — the condensed milk was only at the edges. It really reminded me of childhood, when we felt the same kind of “trick” with the filling.
A bit disappointing, since I was hoping for that true nostalgic flavor with filling all the way through.
The interior is cozy and very harmonious, it creates a nice atmosphere. But if you want to build a strong reputation, the first step is not to deceive your customers.

I was so excited to try homemade perogies as I am Polish. What I got was terrible! Not homemade at all but machine made garbage I asked for sautéed and got deep fried with no onions (& I ordered them). These are the worst perogies ever and nothing like your pictures. I guess laziness got the best of you
