We dined in for our dad’s birthday lunch and truly enjoyed the experience. We called a day ahead to reserve a table, and the restaurant made sure everything was set when we arrived.
Even though the place was very busy, our server did a great job—very attentive and thoughtful, especially about our dietary needs with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. The service was detailed, timely, and well organized.
All the food was served hot, portions were generous, and prices were very reasonable. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but service was fast and efficient. To make the occasion even more special, the staff also sang Happy Birthday for our dad, which was a lovely touch.
One thing to note is that the restaurant does apply a 20% service charge for large parties, which is good to be aware of in advance. Overall, a great place and a wonderful lunch for a special occasion.

Baan Talay Thai is hands down one of my favorite spots in town. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My most favorite are Pineapple Fried rice and Thai Boat noodle — both were incredible!
The staff are really friendly and make you feel right at home. You can tell they genuinely care about the food and the experience. The restaurant has a nice, cozy vibe too — great for date night or just grabbing dinner with friends.

I was traveling and didn’t have much time to dine in, so we ordered takeout. I really liked the papaya salad it was very good. The sausage was tasty too, though the portion felt a bit small for the price. We also ordered fried rice and larb, and both were good with nice portions. Overall, it’s worth trying

We were looking for a Thai restaurant to replace another popular Thai restaurant in Bellaire. This place is different yet similar. We had the Fried Calamari, the Crispy Shrimp Rolls, the Steamed Mussels Clay Pot, the Roti with Curry Sauce, the Tum Thai, the Thai Garlic Fish, and the Mama-Keemao Combo. The calamari was crispy and crunchy, and finally does not look like onion rings. The shrimp egg rolls were plain, it only had glass noodles and no veggies in sight. The roti with curry was good, especially the curry sauce but I wish the roti was fluffier. The steamed mussels were good, I love the many basils they added. The tum thai had good flavor, not too lemony or too sweet. The garlic fish was just ok. I expected a crunchy deep fried fish like what another thai place use to make but it didn’t live it up here either. Under every bite of fish it was kinda fishy for me. The presentation for the mama-keemao combo had me questioning if the cup was clean to layer all the food around the outside of it. I didn’t eat it since it wasn’t a dish I chose. The presentation for this dish and all the other dish was good but for price I paid I would have expected better portions. I would have loved more dishes with other veggies other than bell peppers and garlic. I didn’t find a veggie dish I could love. The other reviewers may have gotten me here, and there are some dishes I would reorder but it wouldn’t be a usual place to visit unless there’s not a better replacement.

The food is flavorful and fresh. The ambience is inviting, the staff is attentive and friendly.
It’s really nice to finally have a really nice Thai restaurant in the Katy area.
We went on a weekday and ordered from their lunch specials menu. Prices on the lunch menu range from $11.95-$14.95 depending on the protein you order. The entree comes with an egg roll, a potsticker, soup and a small portion of dessert (mango and sweet sticky rice).

I didn’t expect the food to be so delicious and conceptual. It’s different from other Thai restaurants. The fish is fresh and doesn’t smell, the noodle soup is rich in spices, the pork satay is delicious and not too sweet. And the best is the garlic fried fish You have to try all the menus I photographed. They’re all delicious!!!!!!

Tried it here for the first time, food is great, especially the North East (Isan style) dishes. We love their papaya salad which came with super cute presentation and taste just perfect authentic Thai.
Service is excellent, staff are very friendly and attentive. I wish we lived closer so we could try more dishes.
Highly recommended: papaya salad which came, moo ping (grilled pork), beef jerky, chicken satay, deep fried garlic fish, longan juice

This restaurant is excellent in service and atmosphere. We had the Thai garlic fish and the pork katsu curry. The Thai garlic fish was EXCELLENT. The fish was cooked perfectly and was fresh. The two sauces that were served with it were the ideal accompaniments, with my favorite being the thick garlic sauce.
As for drinks, we ordered the Thai beer (highly recommended) and the Thai tea (also good!).
We will be back!
