Came here during a visit to Seattle for a conference and dined at the bar. The food was excellent (I tried a dish based on the bartender’s suggestion). i wanted something spicy as had been eating bland food at the conference and he had the kitchen add some side sauces (siracha, red chillies etc that fit the bill)

The decor is great as was the service. Almost went back the following day as I was in the neighborhood but went to Carmello’s instead

Highly recommended!

The food was plated well and looked appealing. However, everything we ordered (Bun Cha Hanoi Bowl, Mi Bo Vien, Bun Cha Gio, and Crispy Imperial Rolls) was mid. I’m not exactly sure how to describe it. It just felt like it was missing the flavors that make it authentic. Maybe for someone who has never had Vietnamese food before, this is a good entry point.

We are at the tail end of our trip to Seattle and we’re SO happy we decided to stop by Ba Bar before we left to return back to Hawaii. A friend recommended Ba Bar to us and my family and I were craving Vietnamese food, so we decided to give it a try. We stopped in for lunch and had the best dining experience we’ve ever experienced in Seattle. The food was seriously top-notch; my family and I devoured our entire 3 course meal. There wasn’t a drop left of our pho bowls, we ended up ordering another serving of the Saigon wings (MUST TRY!) and I even bought a bag full of their macarons to bring home to the island as gifts.
Our food was delicious, but the incredible service we received from Michelle is what made it all the more special. Michelle was so attentive, she gave us great recommendations, and she was super sweet. I don’t remember the last time my dad was so impressed with customer service, but he said that it felt like we were at a fancy steakhouse with the 5 star treatment we received from Michelle. My family left feeling happily full, our cravings satisfied, but also a little sad that we don’t have more time to pay Ba Bar another visit before we leave (although, I’m trying to convince my dad we need to stop there before the airport for one more round of the Pandan Vietnamese coffee lattes, which were ridiculously bomb) We honestly can’t wait to come back! Thank you Michelle and Ba Bar for the hospitality and treating us like ohana. Aloha until next time!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is one of our favorite local spots. The food is amazing, good service and fun atmosphere with a slappin’ vibe. The crispy imperial rolls were generously stuffed, the beef/lamb rolls were perfectly seasoned, the combo platter was huge and delicious, and the braised beef soup special was a delicious and delightful way to stay warm on a cold, rainy Friday night.

We love BaBar for the best Vietnamese food in the city. Also, when you compare prices to other Cap Hill restaurants, their prices are much better for the food and service you get.

Also their playlist is fantastic! A good mixture of pop music classics and current Vietnamese pop!

I ordered through Uber Eats. The food is below average by Vietnamese standards—at best about 30% authentic—with some odd modifications. The house meat patty has an unusual, off flavor. The sauce, which is the soul of this dish, is a complete miss: underseasoned and lacking depth. I honestly can’t understand why this place has so many good ratings; perhaps they’re from people who haven’t tried proper Vietnamese food. There was also no tamper-proof seal on my delivery, which is disappointing for a takeout order. That said, the restaurant looks nice, which may explain some of the hype.

Was a solid experience. The staff were friendly and the food arrived extremely quickly. The dishes were good, but not great. Portions were small (the noodles were lacking), and the prices were so-so.

The dining room ans restrooms were clean.

DO NOT GET THE VEGGIE PHO HERE!!! WORST PHO EVER

genuinely this is the worst pho i’ve ever had. AND it doesn’t come with any tofu. the tofu was $4.50 EXTRA on top of the bowl being $18. with the tofu added on, that makes the veggie pho the most expensive on the menu which is so crazy.

our server was super nice. but honestly that couldn’t make up for the horrible vegetarian food.

the pho broth just didn’t taste like pho broth at all. it even had seaweed in it. and they also didn’t have hoisin or sriracha bottles on the table. you have to ask for it and they bring you a tiny little dish. also they didn’t bring any herbs to put in our pho.

The veggie pho should be considered a h*te cr*me. The statement may seem hyperbolic, but if you just had the pho I had— one that included kelp for some unknown reason, mushy noodles, a vaguely pho-reminiscent broth that was way too sour, no herbs/barely any bean sprouts on the side, and 5 pieces of tofu for $4.50 to be added (because it is *not* included)— then you’d likely agree. Also note that this is the MOST expensive pho on the menu, for a total of $21.95.

I want to make it clear that I did try to provide this feedback in person before leaving this review. The waiter was super kind when I provided the feedback to be passed on to the manager. We didn’t ask for this, but they said they would try to see if they could get to get our meals compensated. They said that they couldn’t and instead brought us a bag of cookies on *them*, that would come out of their pay check— says a lot about the management.

It’s disappointing because why even offer a vegetarian item if you refuse to do it well? Just save people the time and money of even considering this place for a vegetarian option by removing this from your menu.

This was a great recommendation by a local! Their take on Vietnamese is fabulous. Love that they have banh cuon on the weekends and have three versions: Hanoi, Saigon and Shrimp. We had all three and they were all great! We also had the wings, but the winner was the banh cuon hands down.

The Old Phoshian spin on an Old Fashion had the nice addition of anise but otherwise no hint of pho broth. Good, if slightly misleading.

It’s popular with the neighborhood locals and Seattle University students, so recommend getting there a little on the early side for dinner since there were several large parties waiting to get in when we left.
