B-Side created by Valerie, Nando & Fernando Chang, from Itamae bring their Original Sushi Bar back to Miami Design District. B-Side is a perfect representation of the Chang family. It’s hard not to notice the impeccable sushi techniques and distinct understanding of traditional flavors perfectly blended with their love for all things music and travel. The concept’s very name comes from the family’s serious addiction to music, a wordplay on the funkier side of a record.

One of those places you’re happy you found. Chef Long makes sushi that actually tastes fresh and clean. Every plate feels like he put real care into it.
The staff is friendly, the vibe is relaxing, and the food just makes your day better. I came in tired and left feeling great. If you’re looking for sushi that never disappoints, this is the spot.

Food was fresh & delish, service was fast, & prices were reasonable. However, they had the nerve to add an 18% surcharge/tip. I placed my own order on a tablet, chose my own table, & had to go get my own food to take back to my table when alerted vis text. How does this justify a tip?

I had a very disappointing experience at B-Side in Wynwood. I was there for a birthday celebration and asked the cashier if they had any gluten-free options. She immediately said “no” without even checking. One of the staff members tried to help and mentioned they had gluten-free soy sauce, and even the sushi chef explained that their sushi rice is made only with vinegar and salt. Despite that, the cashier kept insisting they had nothing gluten-free and was extremely rude in the process.
It was obvious she had no understanding of gluten avoidance and no interest in helping. The worst part was when she said that nobody in the entire food hall had anything gluten-free — which was completely untrue. I walked to the next spot, a Korean place, and the staff there were amazing: very polite, knowledgeable, and explained all the gluten-free options and substitutions.
B-Side really needs to train their employees better and hire staff who know how to treat customers respectfully.

When we found two of our favorite things combined into a single location (food halls and Asian food) we were there.
Covid-19: the large outdoor patio area of the food hall was pretty empty and we felt comfortable eating out there.
We tried 3 places in the food hall and this one was our favorite! It’s saying a lot too because we loved all 3 places.
We got Kiki’s Roll (which was a special) and the Crispy Rice Combo (which comes with spicy tuna and salmon tartare).
I LOVE crispy rice from sushi places and this one was so delicious. Kiki’s Roll was the best sushi roll I’ve had in a long time. It had all of my favorite things: mango, tuna, salmon, and avocado. Fantastic.
When in Miami, you need to stop at 1-800 Lucky and while there, you need to stop here!

Love the atmosphere of 1 800 Lucky with the fantastic music in the background or live DJ. I ordered a tuna bowl and it was delicious and asked for spicy mayo and eel sauce.

So you order your sushi up at the counter on an iPad, and you go back to the counter and pick up your sushi when it is ready. And they demand an 18% gratuity! When I asked how to change that amount, I was told I cannot. Everyone must pay 18%. Beyond ridiculous. 18% gratuity for ZERO service. Will not return.
