Azul is a gem. They have hands down the best tacos and quesabirrias around—packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and always satisfying. On top of that, their prices are some of the best you’ll find, which makes it an easy go-to spot. The restaurant is also located in a nice neighborhood, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, high-quality Mexican food.

Sat on their patio for dinner which is on the east side of the street so it was fully shaded at that time. There are 3 or 4 tables on their sidewalk patio which has nice scenery with the Stonegate water fountain across the street.
The quesabirrias were very good. Their white queso and complimentary salsa were both solid. The kids quesadilla (ordered cheese only for my daughter) was the biggest disappointment; I could have made a better one at home.
Azul is a nice alternative to Texas Margaritas and other Mexican in the area with its neighborhood vibes. We’ll be back to try again.

They had great service and the atmosphere overall was great, however, I tried this place twice thinking maybe they just had a bad day. The chimichanga I got the first time was decent but could have used a little more seasoning. The beans were very pale and runny and didn’t have any flavor and rice also could have used more seasoning. The second time I went I got a taco salad my daughter got a bean burrito with rice and beans. My daughters food was bland and again watery beans, I took a bite of the taco salad and there was absolutely NO seasoning on the meat. I looked in the bowl and it was almost soupy. There was so much water in the bowl. I never send food back, but I had to send this back and ordered something quesabirria tacos. They were better but again, not much seasoning. I want to like this place so bad, but it’s just so bland.

I am so glad that such a wonderful restaurant is here in Stonegate. The service is fantastic– Antonio and Luis are terrific. When you go, ask for one of Antonio’s margaritas. They are really special, and Antonio is a joy. I think he may be the manager, he certainly makes the experience fantastic. I eat at Azul’s maybe weekly, and my wife loves Antonio’s margaritas. The choriqueso is a great starter, the Burrito Ranchero is excellent. Great beer, GREAT service. Thank you Antonio for a wonderful evening tonight!

We had an absolutely amazing time at Azul Mexican Restaurant! From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. The food was outstanding—bursting with authentic flavor, generous in portion size, and very reasonably priced. You can tell the kitchen takes real pride in every dish they serve.
What made it even more special was that it came highly recommended by my Mexican colleagues who are currently visiting us for work. They were genuinely impressed, which speaks volumes about the authenticity and quality of the food.

This place is outstanding!!!! We had a large group at last minute, was immediately seated and served drinks, chips & salsa. I believe the server may have been the owner, who was one of the best I’ve ever seen. He made an interesting and potent margarita. The food was excellent as was the service. I lived in Arizona for 23 years and this place has better Mexican food than anything AZ has to offer. We will be back!!!!

Overpriced margaritas. Guacamole was bland – it has a manufactured taste consistency to it. The queso dip was cold – it had a film on it like it had been sitting in the fridge and someone gave it too short of a microwave reheat.
