Finally Opened! [on Feb 3, 2026]
Been patiently waiting for a decent Mexican Restaurant in the Gun Lake area and I am finally rewarded. My visit was one week into the grand opening and as someone who has opened a restaurant I am impressed. The staff is extremely knowledgeable already and this was in the face of a busy Tuesday @ 6:30pm. Now to the deats as the kiddos say:
ATMOSPHERE
Right now this looks to be edging toward your higher end Mex place. Layout is cool (same as Thirsty Buddies) with indoor and extended patio seating separated by a bar. See picture. I love the big high-back booths. Also appreciate the overall appearance without too many of the typical cheesy Mexican Restaurant decorations. Just enough to set the atmosphere.
SERVICE
As mentioned this crew was pretty on point very friendly and knowledgeable. I assume it’s because they are familiar with their Hastings food and process. They clearly care about your experience. Really appreciated the service immediately and proactively bringing me chips and salsa and asking me if I wanted a drink, see picture.
FOOD
Really good, 4 of 5 stars, for the Chimichanga I had. The great – I appreciate having two smaller chimichangas vs 1 big one because it enables you to split or save half easily. Plus you can incorporate all the little added garnishes more directly. I had the chicken, see picture. Good flavors all around. The opportunity – I needed to add the fresh jalapeños and extra salsa. I recommend these few adjustments to elevate the dish: the rice is good, add some refried beans too, increase the sour cream and tomatoes garnish.
OVERALL
I will be back and next time I will bring my wife. Currently they only have beer and wine and some form of margherita but the booze approval is on its way.

This Mexican restaurant is the best around! We really love it there! Great atmosphere, great seating very comfortable seats. The staff is just awesome. And love the management they are the best. Our first time here – a week after opening, and we were very happy with our food, our service, and the atmosphere. The decor is similar to the previous business, but now with a nice, Mexican flair. I had the Pacific Sunset: three tacos with shrimp and scallops, melted mozzarella, pico de gallo, avocado, corn, and homemade chipotle sauce. Natalie recommended them, and they were fantastic!!! I definitely recommend that you stop in and enjoy for yourself!
