To be honest, I am not a big fan of Latino cuisine, but it doesn’t mean their food isn’t good, I just didn’t have much chance to explore them formally yet. I have tried some Mexican & Pan-Latin food many times before, but never from real restaurant. This is first time for me, and I’m already hooked now.
This place is very close to my home but I just had paid attention on their menu and it looks so variety, yummy and interesting. I choose Carne Asada, that the famous one I heard among their food. It was really tasty with marinated and grilled perfectly, (medium), so that make me quite sure others their dishes will be great too.
I ordered take out, so I can’t say much about the service, anyway everything went smoothly, food was ready for picking up when I arrived and the staff knew their job right away. Moreover, I could see inside the restaurant, it is so charming and lively decoration. (As bar style) It is spacious dining room and some patio seats are available outside. Very convenient to stop by, and huge free parking lots at Layhill Shopping Center.

Walked in about 6 and music was screaching loud with a party in progress. Asked to have music turned down and basically refused. My app decibel meter registered over 90DB, earsplitting noise which can cause hearing loss and damage. We will never return. If you have this level of disrespect for customers, no business for you. Want loud parties, close your place to customers until the screeching loud music is done.

This restaurant describes itself as “fine Mexican and Latin American dining”, so maybe I set my expectations too high based on the “fine dining”. There was nothing wrong with the food I ordered, but it did not meet expectations. The Shrimp Tacos ($20) were meagerly filled, and served with white rice(?) and a small portion of beans. The atmosphere is lively and the staff was friendly.

Stopped for lunch on our first visit; will definitely be back!! Friendly, prompt service in an unexpectedly pleasant atmosphere. Reasonable prices—very good food! And the salsa served with complimentary chips is superb!!

We brought out of town guests here. I have been there for a half dozen formal happy hours in the past but only sat down once to eat in 2008. Service was really really poor and the food was so so. Guest had to go to the bar to get a drink as we waited far too
Long at one turn. A 14 oz skirt steak was not 14 oz. My wife did not care for her entree, seafood of some sort. Drinks are very expensive for Layhill, MD. With the extra drink and no appetizers, it was a $400 check, felt like half that. I had wanted to go back since 2008. There are way better Latin restaurants close by. Left over 20 percent tip so 440 lol

I’ve been a guest here at Azucar for many years. But tonight was a disappointment. The food took more than 40 minutes to arrive, and then I ordered dessert, which also took forever to receive. I was already ready to leave when they finally brought it. I don’t think I’ll be coming back anytime soon with this kind of service. At the end I ask for the manager but they told me there are busy with other events.
