So fun fact, I was actually going here for a first date, when I got blown off by this crazy guy who thought I should leave the public restaurant i had chosen to go pick him (a complete stranger) up at a gas station. I clearly wasn’t gonna do that but decided to stay and try the food anyway and boy was that 10x better than the guy ever had a chance to be.
I started with the coffee which is AMAZING. It’s not fancy, just freshly brewed coffee in a regular coffee pot but they put brown sugar and spices in with the coffee to brew and it’s so good!
It was taco Thursday so I tried 4 of their tacos and they were all amazing, and each was different enough to be noticably different and good in its own way. I had the fish taco, the pibil, the carnitas, and the Azteca (steak) taco. Very traditional, as they bill it. I actually ate the fish taco before I thought to grab a picture, sorry!
Then, because I was treating myself, I got their plantain dessert, which was really different from others I’ve had (and as the waitress warned me). Instead of being all sticky sweet with more sticky sweet on top, the plantains were sweet, but we’re severed covered in a slightly sour cream sauce and topped with cheese and were a delicious combo of sweet and savory. It was lovely and dessert like without making you feel like you were drowning in sugar.
The service was excellent, the waitress was friendly and informative. My drinks were never more than half empty before I was offered a refill (water and coffee). Even the manager stopped by to make sure I was happy with everything. It was also ridiculously quiet for a lunchtime meal, which for me was lovely, but clearly you all are sleeping on this place, and I need you to go eat there because I want to be able to go back!

While my initial experience was a bit unexpected, as I was briefly mistaken for a delivery driver, the situation quickly improved. I was kindly seated at the bar where my server was very friendly and tried to teach me some Spanish. The conversation was light and casual. The meal – Bistec a la Mexicana with tortillas was delicious, and the server’s suggestions were very helpful. I also really enjoyed the horchata. I took my leftovers with me, ending the experience on a positive note.

Good atmosphere, every meal has the authentic Mexican flavor. Amazing chiles rellenos, also the tacos. I suggest for dessert the cinnamon churros with ice cream. The best churros in WI, we loved it. Very polite waiter.

Great staff, lovely atmosphere, delicious food! I had the flautas de papas with extra sour cream and guac, and a jalapeño margherita, which were great! I also love their avocado quesadilla and mojitos.
