I have ordered from a lot of bakeries, but Aztecs Bakery is easily my new favorite. Honestly, it’s rare to find a place that hits all the marks like they do.
First off, the taste is incredible. The cake was actually moist and the frosting wasn’t that heavy, sugary mess—it was perfectly balanced. You can tell they aren’t cutting corners with their ingredients.
The design was also spot on. I showed them a photo of what I wanted, and they honestly did a better job than the reference. The attention to detail was just impressive and everyone at the party was asking where I got it.
What really surprised me was the price. Usually, when you get something this customized and high-quality, you expect to pay a fortune, but their rates are super fair for the work they put in.
If you need a cake for an event or just want a solid pastry, definitely check them out. I’ll be back for sure!

We stopped by Azteca Bakery in Streamwood for ice cream and had a great time. We decided to dine in and sat at a table. My son loved his coconut on a chocolate-dipped sprinkle waffle cone, though he had a challenging time ripping the paper away from the cone, which got a bit messy. The pistachio ice cream I tried was good—it had plenty of pistachio bits and a nice flavor, though it was a little too sweet for my personal taste. Being able to sample flavors beforehand was a big plus. We were a little over $10 out the door for the ice cream.
The bakery has a wide variety of baked goods, including some of the largest cake pops I’ve ever seen, along with drinks and snacks. There were plenty of helpful staff available. It got busy for a moment, and I felt a bit unseen, but help was on the way quickly. Just a heads-up: there’s no bathroom available, so plan accordingly. Overall, it was an enjoyable visit and the prices were very reasonable. We ended up getting a donut and bread pudding to go, too, which was a little over $3.

We bought cake from here and it is very good quality. There are few cakes available to buy for celebrations and can do pre order for custom theme cakes. The taste is good as well. There is ice cream and other bakery items available in the shop. Overall good place to buy birthday cakes

Great little bakery with really good prices and the perfect treats when you’re craving something sweet. Everything I’ve tried has been fresh and delicious. They also have really good ice cream, and a nice selection of cakes for any occasion. Definitely a place I keep coming back to!

This is the third time ordering a cake from Azteca for my daughter’s birthday. This review is October 2024. Their cakes taste wonderful! They are beautifully decorated and the cost is reasonable. Their pricing is much better than regular American bakeries and The taste far exceeds any grocery store cake. I only gave four stars because they do not offer fresh strawberries as a filling. They offer strawberry preserves or a strawberry mousse. Both are tasty… But I do wish they had fresh strawberries. This cake was yellow cake, with strawberry mousse filling and fresh bananas and custard. This was a two filling cake.

Horrible experience!!!! We ordered a Rosca de Reyes a week ahead and paid $50 up front only to find out when I went to pick it up that they did not make it!! The manager had no excuse for this oversight and her solution was just to do a refund! When we asked for the number of the person above her the other employees refused to give us any information?? We know she is not the owner or the CEO of the company, so there is no one in charge or that could give us any answers as to why they think it’s ok to take peoples money with out providing any product in return!!!

Nice spot with some wonderful traditional breads along with some very familiar pastries. The service is excellent and the food is very tasty. The place is spotless! It has a few tables to dine in but it’s mostly take out. They do have coffee there and fruit juices. Ice cream, and more. Honestly, it’s really nice to see so much genuine pride for their place of business. You don’t really see that at bigger locations. It is nice to see the place run so smoothly. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Food critic here once again. I was referred to this business for their cakes. I ordered a good size cake for 50 people. They baked me a number 90 cake. Let me tell you in asked for fresh strawberries and they made me something else. It was strawberry cream. They went back with the cake to put strawberries on top of it. Then the yellow cake was dry.
