I feel like Ayumi is Amsterdam’s best kept secret. You might think this is a neighborhood hang, but if you’re looking for the best and most authentic sushi that is better priced than anywhere else in Amsterdam, this spot is worth any cycling trip. And to top if off, the folks running this shop are absolutely lovely. Always best to order by phone call, wait is usually around 30min at peak time (eh weekend evenings).

Sushi is always fresh and tasty! Very small place with just a workspace for the really nice owners who make it on-demand. As they always have a lot of orders, it’s good to order via phone around half an hour/ forty minutes before arriving. For me, it might be the best sushi in Amsterdam!

Excellent quality and incredible attention to small detail. Very tasty and fresh sushi, made on the spot by the Japanese couple.
Might take up to 20min if the queue is full, but it’s made on the spot and definitely worth to wait!

I have been coming here every other week for 2 years now! The salmon sushi menu is the perfect meal when I don’t feel like cooking and I want something fresh and easy. There’s too much low quality sushi in Amsterdam and I can assure you this is not that. The couple that runs it are super kind and always great to talk to. Right now there’s massive construction outside (its geared towards takeaway), but I think could be fun to sit outside and eat on their benches in the summer.
