Growing up in Kaneohe, I’ve dined at Ayame for years. It’s not a fancy place; it’s comparable to spots like Sumo Ramen, but better.
This is my baseline place for average ramen and curry. When you are craving a solid bowl of ramen or a plate of curry, it’s the spot to go.
Their combos are priced well for the amount of food you receive—definitely worth it. My usual order is the Chicken Katsu Curry with a small ramen and gyoza set.
The atmosphere is welcoming and a good place for families with children. The evening we dined in, there were at least four families with children or babies with them.

Small restaurant in shopping center. Service was good. Plenty of seats and was not packed when I went. I had gyozas and the Katsu chicken curry wish based off other reviews was their most popular dish. The gyozas were same as you would get anywhere else. The Chicken was crispy and tasted good. The curry taste is ok, it’s was good but not as flavorful as I expected from the reviews. All in all a good meal but can’t say I’d go out of my way for it.

Nice casual place for ramen and curry. Portion sizes are generous and reasonable prices. Quick and friendly service. Menu is extensive, tonkatsu, ramen, fried rice, curry, shrimp fried noodles, nice to e able to order combo ramen and gyoza.

We came in on a Monday at 4pm. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and we were seated immediately. Water was given to us right away and took our orders very quickly. I believe the gentleman taking our order was the owner and he was very nice and conversed with us as visitors from Wisconsin. The food came out very quickly and was all fresh and hot. I had a spicy Ramen and my mother had the Seafood Ramen. I honestly will say my spicy Ramen was very good. Some of the best I have ever eaten. The noodles were perfectly cooked and spice level was good enough for me. I did add a bit of chili oil. The wife and kids all really enjoyed their food as well. Definitely worth giving a try. The owner/server even gave us some food/restaurant recommendations as we were staying in Waikiki.

Ramen was just okay but other dishes, such as gyoza and chow mein, were excellent. Friendly service was given to me as well when eating there. Also accommodating to modification of dishes. Will definitely be coming back!

Great curry and fried rice! I got the fried chicken Curry udon and loved it! Kids shared a Katsu plate and gyoza. Overall the service was amazing and the staff were very helpful. 10/10 will definitely recommend this curry house! If you want a taste of Japan this is it.

Unique food, good portions and prices. The gyazo is decent, the chicken katsu is great. For unique palate, try the pineapple katsu fried rice. Also shown is the shoyu ramen.

Great Curry and Ramen restaurant. My wife was hangry for Japanese style Curry, so we went to Ayame because it was close. Wow, we were happy we ordered the Fried Oyster Curry, Kimchi Ramen, Egg rolls, and Seafood Noodles. The food was delicious and very savory. We like smooth and savory Curry, so the Fried Oyster Curry hit the spot. I highly recommend this place if you’re ever in the area and want a good savory and satisfying meal. Cheers!

Staff was good, but I find the ramen a bit disappointing. Broth wasn’t deep, still had fishy smell of meat… it was a average local ramen house you can find in any neighborhood in US.
