Ayala’s Cafe began in 1998 as the first taco food truck in Hempstead, TX. It was named Ayala’s Taqueria after our family last name. We are proudly family owned and operated. We believe that what makes us unique is our customer service experience and definitely our great food. Our breakfast menu includes a delicious fusion of American breakfast with Mexican breakfast. Our lunch menu offers delicious Tex-Mex options and authentic Mexican food and homemade tortillas. We recently remodeled and added a coffee bar section!

Small town diner, that can be underestimated from a distance. I was surprised at the variety of food.

This is a great little place. The food was good and really friendly staff. Elizabeth was our server and she was awesome. She recommended their home style fries that are made from fresh potatoes because they’re her favorite. She stopped by our table and asked how everything was, we told her all was good but after looking at my wife’s home style fries that were a little crispy, she had them bring some that were cooked nice and tender but not crispy. Extra special care about detail means a lot and they have that. It’ll be our breakfast stop from now on when we are headed to the coast.

First time there was amazing, really good service and food! My girlfriend got the waffle plate and the waffles were fluffy with a good crisp on the outside. I got the bacon egg and cheese breakfast burrito and it was amazing but pretty big. I ordered two thinking it was a typically small one. Overall loved it here and I’ll be coming back another time!

OMG! It’s in a spot I would normally drive by. My son commented, “this looks like a place that’s either really good or very bad.” Well, it was great! Enchiladas were amazing and the service was like at Grandma’s house. I can’t wait to go back!

I highly recommend this family owned restaurant. As a single dad who has raised my own children and cooked home style authentic and Tex-mex meals majority of my life practically always in the kitchen with my mother n abuelita . This small but cozy family owned restaurant is as close to the comfort foods I grew up on and the customer service is beyond five stars .The food presentation was as good as it tasted that I forgot to take pictures of it lol .

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow! The chili rellenos are homemade and out of this world! The tortillas, both corn and flour are homemade. My brother in law said his street tacos were excellent and the borracho beans are the best that he has ever had. The parking lot is full at breakfast, so we are excited about trying it it out then. Two huge thumbs up! Hempstead is blessed to have Ayala’s Mexican Cafe!

I loved Ayala’s Cafe. My wife, infant son, and I are in town visiting my mother, and we all went to Ayala’s for lunch. We were greeted with very warm and friendly staff, and the barbacoa street tacos I had were phenomenal. My wife loved the chimichanga

We found this place on our way back home from Tomball. Everything was so good and the people were so nice. I’m very picky when it comes to coffee, and it was amazing as well. This may be our go to spot from now on when we visit! Thanks Ayala’s!
