Ay! Rosa was hands down one of our favourite food finds in Madrid. We loved it so much we went twice during our 6-day stay – and honestly, that says everything.

Being served by the owner himself made the experience even better. The service was genuine, welcoming and full of pride for the food. The tacos mixed platter and chicken fajitas were absolutely amazing – fresh, flavour-packed and cooked perfectly. Every dish felt authentic and made with care.

If you’re craving proper Mexican food in Madrid, this place is a must. We’ll definitely be back next time.

After a long day exploring the Prado Museum, dinner at Ay! Rosa was the perfect way to wrap up our evening.

Coming from Australia, we were thrilled to find an authentic Mexican restaurant that’s genuinely vegetarian-friendly. The staff were incredibly kind and patient, happily explaining the menu and drinks.

Our waiter even shared the Wi-Fi password. Thank you! The complimentary tortilla chips and salsa added a lovely, homely touch, and the salsa had a unique, smoky flavour that’s worth trying.

The burrito came out golden and perfectly toasted, cut in half and propped open to reveal the colourful filling of rice, beans and veggies. It was served on a small wooden tray lined with vintage-style newspaper, accompanied by sides of guacamole and a creamy dipping sauce, making for a fun and thoughtful presentation. My mojito mocktail looked straight out of a summer postcard: crushed ice, mint leaves and a bright hint of lime that balanced the meal perfectly. It tasted great!

Everything was beautifully plated, and the burritos had a comforting, homemade flavour, not your usual Tex-Mex, which made the experience feel special. Portions were just right, and while the prices are a bit higher than a quick-service Tex-Mex spot, the quality and warmth of the service make it completely worth it.

Also, the bright floral tablecloths and colourful wall art give the restaurant an instantly cheerful vibe. It’s one of those places where even the presentation makes you smile and look around before the first bite.

Overall, it was a cosy, vibrant spot about ten minutes from the Prado. Great service, great food, and a lovely atmosphere. For anyone craving authentic Mexican flavours with genuine hospitality, Ay! Rosa is worth a try.

This is a laid-back, unpretentious bar that does exactly what it promises. A margarita costs just €7, which is hard to beat in Madrid. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming — perfect for a relaxed night out without spending much.

Nothing fancy, but it delivers on value and comfort. Great spot if you’re on a budget or just want a drink without the scene.

I would give more stars if I could. My wife and I are huge fans of Mexican food, you could say connoisseurs, having chased the spicy dragon all across Europe and North America and we both agreed that these are some of the best tacos we’ve ever had and a homemade chili sauce that rivals any I’ve ever had. An unassuming facade revealed a wonderful experience with amazing food and a kind host. Muchas gracias Rafael!

Really good tacos with tasty ingredients and proper corn tortillas.
The restaurant has a really good vibe and offers quality for a decent price.
Only negatives were the large amount of fruit flies that annoyed us all evening and the fact that since the restaurant was a bit empty, the staff was left behind the bar on their phone which looked a bit unprofessional.
Overall good experience though as quality was there..

Delicious authentic Mexican food at very good prices. We tried the tacos, quesadillas and burritos and all three were superb! We would also recommend the Mexican Sangria to drink as well.

The lady serving us was very polite and friendly and they also had English versions of the menu which made it easier to decide what to order.

Great experience all round.

Greeted very well by Rafael an owner who showed a lot of pride in his business! Given homemade tortilla chips and salsa, both mild and spicy, on arrival – The Nachos were possibly the best I’ve ever had and the menu very extensive for Mexican.

Good drinks selections and great mango margarita.

Very clean and tidy restaurant. Would highly recommend if in the area.
