DO NOT GO HERE!! Drink was tampered with last night 3/5/26. I went to the bathroom, came out, after finishing drinks and leaving I was completely out of it, barely made it home. Drinks were had but I know when something is off. DONT GO HERE

When I walked through those doors no matter what was going wrong in my life everything is okay. now that i dont live nearby i try to recreate that feeling with drugs and alchohol but nothing will be the same as being 4 vodka redbulls deep cheersing a Rumplemintz with Eric Andy Brady and Frido.

If you’re thinking about going here late at night, don’t bother. Went here with a couple friends around 11, and they said the bouncer said they were at capacity, so we had to leave. They didn’t even look busy. Went back later that night and they said we couldn’t come in for a drink at 1:30. I also have to mention another experience I had. My girlfriend and I went in on a weeknight and we were waiting for over 15 minutes and the bartender didn’t even look at us. There are plenty of other bars in Milwaukee… do yourself a favor and don’t go to this one.

Not a safe place for single ladies. Owner tried to drug me with a “free drink”. Started warning other ladies, I was told by one lady her friend was drugged by the owner and taken to the basement and “taken advantage of”.

An okay bar. The beer pitchers are $10 a piece so not too bad. The pool tables do not function as they should. The cue ball doesn’t come out if it falls in one if the holes. And it can get real frustrating when you pay for a game and then the game stops midway because of this glitch. Not a very happening bar either. The bartenders are friendly but the place needs a revamp.

Axel’s dive bar aesthetic is a snapshot of a by-gone era on the Eastside. Axel’s has evolved over the years from being a local neighborhood bar to being the hangout for the UWM students to being something in between these days. Everyone is welcome! Always a game on the tv with great specials on drinks. Super laid back, come-as-you-are atmosphere. Pool tables are always available when I go.

HORRIBLE and RUDE bartenders. Worst customer service I’ve ever received. I came with a few friends and we were in a great mood and the bartender was out of line being extremely rude. I will never go there again. This bar is trashy and so are the bartenders.
