Absolutely the worst hotdog I’ve ever had in my entire life. It was brown. Not grilled, but brown. The coleslaw was at least a few days old and past date. The clam plate was about half the size when compared to others and also not fresh. The whole experience was not good. This place used to care. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

Staff is comprised of inattentive personnel who would rather share stories than greet customers. Available at posted hours, but shuts down the ability to give you menu items over an hour prior to the location closing. Ice cream is alright but there are better options nearby. Don’t bother.

We work hard for our money and every once in a while like to treat ourselves to an ice cream. This review is just the straight skinny on this order from Axel’s. I was able to order on line and and the order was ready when they said it would be, so for that I gifted a star. The order number was 654103630 at 6:29 pm on April 6th. My M&M Artic blast with chocolate ice cream was a disaster. The cup had a crack and was leaking. The amount of M&M’s in this artic blast left very little room for ice cream, as there wasn’t much ice cream in it. The overdose of M&M candies made this artic blast inedible. I had to throw it away. There is certainly an amount of M&M’s to ice cream ratio that makes everyone happy. This was not it. The other ice creams we bought were in cups with very little ice cream in the cup. Why have a dome lid if the ice cream doesn’t even come up to the top of the container? They were medium sized ice cream cups looking like smalls. We’re very disappointed with Axel’s in Merrimack NH. None of this can be blamed on a pandemic that’s for sure! Unless the pandemic took your eye site and you work at this location. Perhaps if this is the case then this hypothetical blind person needs to find employment elsewhere. I don’t think we’ll come back to Axel’s for ice cream. There are other locations nearby that have overpriced ice cream but at least its edible.

Warning! The kiddi-size cup of ice cream is ginormous. The cheeseburger and fries were so good! My burger had all the fixings, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, mayo. Highly recommend! Portions here are ridiculous.

Worst food ever. Whole belly Fried clams. Stay far away. Place is also very dirty inside.. the lobster Boat is 2 miles south. Take the ride and don’t eat this food. Owner here doesn’t care.

The worst ice cream ever. Got a dirt dessert and it came with vanilla. I’ve always known it to be made with chocolate ice cream. My husband got granite state and it was tasteless. 1 small and the dirt dessert was like $18. Not worth it at all.

We have been going there for many years and I do have to admit that the food has gone downhill since the ownership has changed hands- Frozen hamburger patties and french fries loaded with way too much salt. The help was not helpful. My husband ordered a Dr Pepper and he ended up with a Diet Coke. Complaining would have fallen on deaf ears, so there was no need to complain, besides – there was only one person there and she was a young female teenager

I’ve been going to Axel’s for several years now, always happy with their ice cream selections.
Once I saw they were selling shaved ice, I had to try it out. It is FANTASTIC! We tried Tiger’s Blood and Watermelon. Both were great. The consistency was great, and the flavor was throughout the entire dish. Some places have their ice melt due to the flavorings. That’s not the case here. Definitely try it out!
