I almost regret stopping because I will forevermore want this as my sushi experience from now on and I live on the east coast. It’s amazing ingredients meets expansive creativity meets old school diner vibes. Incredibly friendly, upbeat, and very efficient service, delicious sushi, and fair prices. Best quality quantity for the price! Mid level quality raw fish but lower prices ranges. The most impressive thing about this place is how generous their portion size are in comparison to the low price. Highly recommend! Look at the salmon skin salad, this place by far gives the most delicious fried salmon skin for the salad I’ve ever seen any sushi places high end or otherwise. There’s less salad than salmon skin which is the eater’s dream! The hand roll has more fish than rice, another eater’s prefer portion. Also has a unique dish like the yummy spicy seaweed salad. Can’t wait to come back.

Words cannot describe how much of a gem Awesome sushi is. The only thing better than the awesome deals and delicious sushi is the friendly staff! I normally only eat nigiri but the Awesome roll is probably the best roll of sushi I’ve ever had in my life. The happy hour is unmatched and greatly appreciated, especially with how expensive food has gotten. But above all, Awesome has stayed consistently delicious in all the years we have been coming here. Stopped by yesterday to get take-out for my daughter. She had called and informed me she was “sick” and NEEDED some Meso soup. Stopped by and ordered 4 to-go. Very short wait and employee brought bag out to me and stated, ” I hope your daughter feels better and I threw in some extra soup for her”. Is that not the nicest gesture I’ve experienced in a long time! Thank you so much for hiring this Awesome employee. I will forever visit and recommend Awesome Sushi to everyone I see. Okay, so this wasn’t the fanciest restaurant. The spot is on a corner and shares parking lot with a smog shop. There is a carry out window so it looks like the place is closed or only has carry out. But if you get past this and make it through the door, you’re greeted by friendly people who make Amazing food. Loved the food and the service was fast and friendly. The ambiance is nothing significant to write about but the food rocked.

I am so glad I finally came in here! The location is a bit random, but the inside feels like a very small restaurant type of place you’d find in a city somewhere. The service was fantastic and everyone was super friendly and accommodating. The miso soup was my favorite! It was super flavorful and hearty. The rainbow roll was a great standard roll that I always order at any new sushi place I’m trying. I also tried a roll that had mango and tuna on the top, it was crunchy and delicious. Overall I really enjoyed the sushi here and more importantly, the prices were super fair. They also had a great lunch and dinner special that I will check out very soon. I have been looking for my new sushi spot in the area and I think I’ve found it.

I originally discovered awesome sushi back in college in 2013, been coming here since then whenever I’m in the area since I don’t live in the area anymore. My go to rolls are the awesome roll (extra butter, garlic and jalapeños), call me babe, and the slot machine! You can’t go wrong with some of the other rolls, all of it is good. Nena always takes care of us when we come in!! Staff is very friendly and awesome!!

We are staying at the Marriott just down the road and Justin at the front desk recommended this little shop. As soon as we walked in, I knew I was about to have some of the best sushi imaginable. Very small and cozy place. Great deals if you’re trying to watch your spending. I totally recommend their combo plate. My partner and I split that and got a sushi roll and still had some salad and soup leftover. The staff are extremely friendly and helped me pick out their favorite rolls to try. I am going to recommend this place to anyone coming into Long Beach. Don’t miss out!
