This location I have been coming to about a handful of time since beginning of Aug do to getting Tattoos in Albany. Each time I have went there with my kids, I have seen maybe 2, 3 workers at one time so under-staffed, under managed/ran. Which sucks cuz I love Albany and love A&W. They take forever to make things, it’s like a silent desert in there, no welcoming feeling at all. No soft music unless you pay for it from the jukebox. The lobby and women’s floor was sticky. Then on top of that today I ordered their mini corney dogs. My daughter opens them up half way to home in Eugene Oregon and the images is what we got. Looked like they cooked them twice sadly. They smelt burnt and were hard as a rock. This is very sad and poor quality on some foods/cooking. The WORST A&W I have ever been to and WORST mini corney dogs I have ever gotten. Heck the worst of any corn dogs/mini corney dogs I have ever gotten. I would have gave them zeros in food and atmosphere area if I could and if their burgers on their menu weren’t delicious.
Stay away if you dont like burnt over cooked food and are looking for a welcoming environment to eat at. The owner needs to take a look again at this location and vamp it up in some way to make it more welcoming. Heck there is not many left in Oregon. So to fall horribly short is not doing A&W franchise any justice. They should just have the jukebox playing random softly all day, Def make sure the employees are keeping it cleaned for guests. Would maybe bring back that nostalgic old-school a&w look and vibe to this location.
Young man who brought our food out was very nice.
Dinning area was very clean.
Unfortunately, the nearest one seems to have shut down, and this location is the next closest. Having tried them twice now, I’ve been horribly disappointed – first time we dined in, and despite no apparent drive thru traffic and no one else in the restaurant, we had over a 10 minute wait. On top of that, the burgers were horribly salty, and they gave me girlfriend a Spicy papa burger instead of a regular, and the root beers at the fountain were both out of syrup.
The second visit was through the drive thru, and again we had an unusually long wait, an incorrect order (asked for no onions and an extra dipping sauce, both were ignored), and the buns seems almost stale.
Horribly disappointed, and won’t be coming back to this location again!
