Man… I have such fond memories of what A&W once was. This? Not it. Honestly, I should’ve known better seeing it attached to a Long John Silver’s. Take out took for-ev-er. My burger somehow lost everything except the pickles (as in they weren’t even on the burger). My combo came with 6 (yes SIX) cold fries. The entire building was sticky. The employees were overworked for the rush. Without beating a dead horse, I’ll leave it at this: Ots not cheap enough to make up for the lack of quality… just go to Culver’s instead.

Went through the drive thru ordered our food drove 26 minutes home to find out they forgot my whole meal we had to drive 26 minutes back just to get told they didn’t forget my meal and that it’s in the bag it wasn’t. We have been standing here waiting for 15/20 minutes waiting for them to give me my food but manager keeps doing everyone else’s orders instead of making my food that was paid for an hour ago..DO NOT ORDER HERE UNLESS YOU GO INSIDE THEY WILL MESS UP YOUR ORDER IN DRIVE THRU!!! And yes i am writing this while still waiting for my food.

Love this place have been going here since I was nine years old currently 51 so that’s quite a long time they have great food one of the only Long John’s / A&w around Des Moines I would strongly recommend this place

Stopped by for the A&W while traveling and the Long John silver was a bonus. The entire staff was super friendly the food came out nice and hot. Ordered the cheese curds, fish, chicken sliders everyone enjoyed their food.

At the drive thru around 5 PM. The guy at window is rude. I asked for a straw he told me I should have asked before I got my food???? He gave me the straw and slammed the window. Its not hard to give good customer service. He looked greasy, nails were yellow, hair looked a mess. AW do better please on training your employees and to teach good hygiene

Service was great, food was good, and store was acceptably clean.
I visited on a weekday afternoon, the place was steady but not busy, about half-full with a few orders in line. I was greeted and placed my order right away. I, of course, got an ice-cold frosty mug and poured a root beer out of the tap. The staff were friendly and prompt, and my food was ready within five minutes. Staff brought the food directly to my table. The double papa burger was hot, and tasted good, the fries were fresh.
Staff were actively cleaning the restaurant between taking orders as they walked in. Gnats and fruit flies unfortunately seemed to be attracted to the root beer tap. Wall was lightly decorated with Americana kitsch and a big mural of a 50s sports convertible while 30s and 40s jazz and big band tunes played softly from the speakers.
I was initially thought the price was maybe a couple dollars too high, but after enjoying the food and especially the root beer, felt the price was worth it. I rang the bell nice and loud on my way out to show my appreciation to the staff for this more-than-satisfactory lunch visit. Great work from the whole team!

Went thru the Drive Thru. Actually it was a “Wait” thru. I waited 5 minutes to get to the order , then waited 20 more minutes. I and 3 other cars behind me all pulled out of line after ordering! Lost 4 orders. Your DRIVE THRU IS BROKEN BAD!! When 1 customer backs line up to Lose the next 4 customers who ordered, thats beyond broken.

This is actually a A&W and Long John Silvers. So it has some expanded options available. The food was good, the staff were friendly and the service was quick! And the best part was when the great gal that was at the register offered for us to have our drinks in the iconic A&W glass root beer mugs that we’re chilled in a fridge below the counter!!! WHAT!?!? OH YEAH! It was pretty awesome to have something so classic in this world of plastic cups! Our crew loved the food and it tasted great. So if your looking for a little nostalgia, stop by, I should really say stop in! To get the full effect!
