The only good thing I can say is that the decor is cute. When we walked in we were greeted with “I’ll be with you when I can.” Not professional or customer friendly at all. Waited about 5 minutes for a table to be cleared and seated. Then waited about another 10 minutes with zero service (not even offered or given a glass of water). The waitress walked by our table multiple times while she cashed out other tables from start to finish and never once stopped to ask us what we would like to drink, take our order, apologize for the wait, or even acknowledge our presence. She was in NO hurry to serve our table. She literally didn’t say anything until we stood up to leave and then she said “well I can take your order now. ” Too late. We went somewhere else.

The Avon Cabin Café is such a cozy little spot!
The entryway is pretty small, so bigger groups may need to wait outside, but it’s worth it once you’re inside. We were staying at the lake with family and decided to treat ourselves to breakfast here—so glad we did!
The food was really good, and while the wait time for our meals was about 30 minutes, it was definitely worth it. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, and the atmosphere had that small-town charm that makes you feel right at home.
We’ll absolutely stop in again next time we’re at the lake!

A cozy, quiet, small town cafe w/ a fun cabin ambience. Big pancakes! And legit burgers on a warm, soft bun.

Wow, extremely friendly service. Opened up a few minutes early cause they saw me waiting. Cook even came out & said hello & chatted. Loved it. At the end of my meal, I had a card problem. They were so calm & smooth about it. I Finally paid it but, they were so understanding. I couldn’t give this place any higher praise. Thank you. Can thru 2nd time thru. Still the same excellent service

Cozy place and very friendly. Lunchtime on Friday there was a small wait. Worth every minute because the food is delicious . Grizzly melt, wobegon chicken sandwich and Frisco burger. So good. Tots were perfect and crunchy. Well stop back any time were going through the area.

This restaurant definitely deserves a 5 star rating! We love to visit mom and pop restaurants to help support them and enjoy delicious home cooked food. WOW, we found an amazing spot here and wasn’t disappointed. My coffee cup never went empty. We will definitely return to this amazing place!!!

Had the canoe and eggs Benedict. Both were very good. Always seen the billboard when I visited my friend in st paul.

We saw the billboard and figured it would be a mom and pop type of diner we were hoping to find. It was exactly that and a good one. Our first clue was how busy it was with the local guests. Lucky for us there were two tables available. Even though it was a full house, our server was helpful, and the food came quick. Think old school diner with good down home cooking. We’ve marked this place for our next trip up 94. They close at 2pm, so plan accordingly. It’s just off the freeway a block past the gas station. Fill both tanks (empty the other) and back on the road!
