We had a great time at Avlo’s! Our waiter, Ricky, was helpful and attentive. The food was cooked to perfection. We ordered the hummus and pita, lamb chops, pastitsio special, octopus, and the souvlaki. The octopus was the best we’ve ever had! We also tried the mountain tea which was the perfect balance of zing and sweetness. We will definitely be back.

Really nice BYOB restaurant. Welcoming and fortunately not noisy so having a conversation is possible. The moussaka was rather salty but rest of the dishes was very nice.

We had a lovely dinner at Avlos. We enjoyed the hummus and dolmades as well as the moussaka and souvlaki. The wait staff is friendly. The restaurant wasn’t crowded, so it was easy to have conversations. We will go back here.

The octopus appetizer with hummus is amazing! It’s so good that the special appetizer of mussels that we also tried seemed only okay in comparison. We both tried the lamb chops entree and it was so very tasty. This place is cute, cozy, and clean. It’s also BYOB. This is a great option for a date night or a night out with friends.

I need to start by saying the service was amazing. We were the only ones in the restaurant but the waiter was very nice and explained everything.
We started with the feta dip and grape leaves and they were both very good. Note: they do not have regular soda but they have Greek soda that was just OK.
I had the chicken skewer meal which was flavorful and the lemon potatoes were as well. However the price for one skewer with chicken is outrageous. Almost $30 for one chicken skewer.
My husband had the pasta with beef cubes. He said it was very tender but the whole dish was lacking flavor.
Overall it was a nice experience but the price was double what we pay compared to another Greek place we go to and this was BYOB so we thought we would save. We probably won’t be back due to the prices and the dish I got was lacking food.

We had high expectations for Avlos based on our love of Greek food and their yummy sounding menu. Unfortunately the execution of the menu left something to be desired.
Whenever we see Octopus on the menu we always order it. The Avlos version ($22) came on a delicious fave bean puree but the octopus was very undercooked. The Spanakopita ($16) was very good. The braised beef with Greek pasta ($29) was uninspiring. The meat was very tough. It was kind of a blessing that the entree only had 2 small pieces. At that price one certainly would expect more than a couple of bites of protein. My partners Barramundi was also very skimpy and the chickpea salad it came with was not great. Despite the food being subpar we still enjoyed the atmosphere. The street was closed down and it was a beautiful night. They had an authentic Greek combo playing that made us feel like we were in the Greek isles. Only complaint outside is that the tables were super close together. The place is a BYOB. Parking in Phoenixville on the weekend is tough so be prepared.

Went here before and had a good food experience. Brought my parents back this evening. Appetizers were good. Waiters were attentive with water refills. My mom ordered the beef kabobs and asked if they could be made with no peppers because she has an allergy. The waitress checked and said they can leave them out. My mom additionally ordered an eggplant dish. Her eggplant dish arrived and it was extremely over salted. She told the waitress and they said they can take it back or something similar to that. My mom’s entree came and it had peppers in it. Additionally the side dish it sat on was extremely over-salted. She expressed this to the waitress. The waitress then informed her that their restaurant policy is not to refund. But that she could remake the food. I asked how that worked since the dish contained peppers and she repeated they could remake
the dish, ignoring my question completely. The waitress then offered for her to see a menu if she wanted to get something else. My mom reluctantly ordered another dish upon me pleading with her to do so, since she didn’t really eat. Before her food came the waitress brought the bill. It had all three dishes on it for us to pay for. On our Check: The OVER-SALTED eggplant, the dish was made with the pepper-WHICH MY MOM IS ALLERGIC TO, and the dish that was offered as a redo for the previous dish(es), or so we understood. Please don’t support this establishment. THIS RESTAURANT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATRONS. READ SOME OF THE REVIEWS, THEY TELL VERY SIMILAR EXPERIENCES.

I rate our visit a 6 out of 5 stars! Superior service, scintillating food and such a stunning little spot. The food was well presented paired to perfection with an amazing blend of delectable herbs that made our taste buds dance! The waitstaff should host trainings as their service was impeccable. Thank you for adding joy to our trip to Philadelphia. We will make it our mission to visit again upon our return here.
