Came in here with the family first time at this particular location. Ask the server for a free item combo. He said no problem. He literally charged me the à la carte price for two flautas at almost $10. When I brought it up to him, he basically looked at me and said Pound sand. Needless to say, I will never come back to this location. It’s dirty. The staff isn’t very friendly. The Costa Mesa and Newport on the Peninsula location locations are run way better. Very disappointing that I brought it up to the server and he did not care.

This brand is outstanding and this location is always a win! Regardless of day, time, inside or out you’ll receive excellent service. Inside the decor is bright and fun. The food portions are plentiful and delicious. Extra shoutout for their legendary salsa! It’s got a delightful kick with fresh, chunky veggies. We always bring a quart home.

Superb Mexican restaurant. Everything about it was great. Once you walk in the interior decorations and vibes are amazing. The staff are very attentive and friendly. There are lots of options for food and drinks. I got the carnitas which was delicious and satisfying. Big portions and nice presentation with fair prices.

Oh my gosh this place was absolutely incredible! I got the carne asada with shrimp plate, Mexican rice and beans, and I also got the chips with fresh guacamole and salsa as an appetizer. I also tried the blackberry margarita which was absolutely delicious. Very good Mexican food.

Avila’s turned my Newport work trip into a vacation. Perfect dinner spot with A+ staff, melt in your mouth food and killer margs. Highly recommend sitting at the end of the bar where you can actually watch your tacos being born. It’s a magical moment I’ll always cherish ❤️

Avila’s is a must-go visit when you’re in the area! The staff is very friendly and the service was prompt. There is table seating outside and inside the restaurant with a bar down in the lower section. The restaurant is known for their Mama’s Soup (which is delicious!) and highly recommend to first-time visitors. It’s a relaxed atmosphere with all the charm of a family-owned establishment and the pride of the community.
