The bread/crust is good, its fluffy and savoury and sweet, almost like a garlic bread. The Sauce/Marinara is delicious, it is on the sweeter side but not so sweet that you cant taste the savoury toppings.
We ordered-
1.Pepperoni pizza- 9/10, I do wish it had more Pepperoni on it for the price point.
2. Barbecue chicken pizza- 10/10, I dont know if it is an official menu item, but we asked for it and they made it and it was yummy!, so I guess you can ask for any type of flavour you want so that is great!
3. Chicken wings- (20pc) it came with a side of fries, 10/10, we got half garlic parm and half teriyaki sauce. Both of the flavours tasted very well and the chicken was fried beautifully, it was so crunchy even after being tossed in the sauce and the 10 min car ride home.
Anyone visiting Raleigh or living there must try this place!
The pizza itself is a little different than your standard slice. The dough has a slightly sweet, buttery vibe—almost (but not quite) like mall pretzel dough—and the sauce leans sweet with herbs mixed in. These aren’t bad things at all. In fact, I’m fairly certain they grow some of their herbs right out front, which tells me a lot is made in-house. Fresh beats processed mystery ingredients every time.
My biggest issue—and the reason for three stars—is consistency. One weekend you’ll get a fantastic pizza that makes you think, “Why don’t I come here more often?” The next time, something just feels a bit off flavor-wise. Tightening that up would go a long way.
Also… what happened to the cinnamon rolls I keep seeing advertised but never available? I’m starting to believe they’re a myth. If they actually exist, I’d really like to try one, because I bet they’re good.
All that said, I love supporting local businesses, and Avent Ferry Pizza is hands down the best restaurant in this strip mall. I’ll keep coming back—just hoping the pizza gods are in a good mood that day.
Garlic knots are a MUST, light fluffy buttery goodness with marinara that taste so freshly made.
Pizza… gooey cheesy goodness with a perfect crust thay holds its own.
Definitely our new pizza spot when in town!
