Delicious Indian/nepalese food. Some really interesting dishes with an innovative twist! We went as a big group (10 of us) and all had a lovely experience. Great, friendly and appropriately quick/attentive service. Would absolutely go again! Thanks for a great evening!

Avatar hosted its largest ever party of 37 guests for this review. For a reasonably small restaurant this was a magnificent achievement. Food was served from 8-10pm and we dined in one section of the restaurant, so couples attending were not disturbed. We chose from one of the Christmas menus but a few people ordered from the main menu with no problem. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. Top marks – we’lll be back!

Wasn’t sure whether to try this place as the menu looked a bit different/specialist to the standard British Indian I tend to like (Madras etc.). However, someone in the pub said we had to go there if having a curry as it was outstanding and wow how right they were. I explained I liked lamb Madras and they recommended a dish with the similar flavour and heat but it was so much better. My friend asked for GF and was accommodated with a few options. Excellent service, food and ambiance and the price was good value in my opinion. Would highly recommend.

Went there for Christmas Day, the service was attentive without being intrusive, the food was delicious and portion size was perfect. The atmosphere was good, it didn’t feel like a library but was quiet enough that we could have a pleasant conversation around the table without raising voices to be heard. I genuinely can’t think what would have improved it.

This is my favourit place to eat in Shrewsbury. The food is delicious – try the lamb shank rogan, the meat falls off the bone and the sauce is rich and nicely spice.. Rice is light and bread is spot on. The service unobtrusive, but attentive.

First time at this Restaurant for us. We absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The service was attentive and efficient.
The food was delicately spiced and not overbearing. Not oily or greasy either.
We highly recommend this restaurant to dine in or for takeaways.
Many other reviews rave about the Momo (Dumplings) starter. We agree. Definitely worth trying.

Went last night, no reservation, seated straight away. Starters were chilli squid and potato spice salad, and main meals, lamb chilli garlic and a chicken tikka dhansak with boiled rice and a garlic Nann. Food, service was excellent. Highly recommend, will go again when in Shrewsbury.

Plenty of options for everyone whatever their taste.
The service needs a little work – the staff seemed a little giggly and didn’t pay attention to details. They could also have been better at making suggestions – they just seemed inexperienced.
I wonder if this was because we were a larger party? Hopefully this is something that can be addressed.
