Avalon Diner is a family-owned restaurant that opened its’ doors to Houston in July 1938. We serve breakfast, lunch, 1938 drug stores burger, bluebell milkshakes, and daily blue-plate specials. Avalon Diner is proud to serve the community with four locations across the Houston area. Avalon Diner could not be what is today without a tremendous staff and an outstanding customer base.

It’s a vintage establishment but it’s great! They offer daily specials and breakfast all day. We met for lunch and we all enjoyed it. Place. Is very clean despite how busy they are. Our waitress super friendly and helpful. Food came out perfect and quickly.

If you like the diner vibe, you will love this place. Ronnie flagged me down the second I walked in the door, got me seated, and then made sure the coffee cup never reached the bottom. I had an omelet, fruit, and toast. The only thing I didn’t love was the cheese, weirdly, but that is just a person preference, I am sure.

First time here and I think this will be our new Sunday morning breakfast spot! Food was amazing, service was fast, & the employees were very friendly & attentive. Ana and Susan were the best servers! She always acknowledged us every time she walked by & made sure we have everything we needed & more! If I could rate Avalon Diner higher than 5 stars I would!! Originally the Avalon was a 1930’s drug store. I appreciate they have kept the same style theme and have chosen to hang pictures of the ordinal drug store on the walls. We have eaten all over the city during our visit. From high end steakhouses to local places such as the Avalon Diner. They gave us the best food and service all week! We went back twice so far and probably will go back a third time before we leave Houston. Everything is homemade and your taste buds will thank you for dining here! Their chili is quite possibly the best I have ever had! Their homemade biscuits….wow!! The chicken fried steak is tender and their cream gravy is so yummy!! I could go on and on about this place. You have try this spot and I know you won’t regret it.

It was pretty crowded and tight seating but the place was quaint the service excellent and the food good, I definitely enjoyed my chicken fried steak and eggs (a first for me) great homemade flavor.

Had a GREAT time here. Was looking for a breakfast spot but and ran across this diner by accident but I’m so happy I did. It was packed (Saturday @ 11am) but that’s a great sign and I’m proud to say it did not disappoint. Loved the food, service was incredible (everyone was so nice) and parking was plentiful.
