The fried okra soup was pretty good. Pretty spicy. If you haven’t had African food it’s best to look it because they don’t have a menu to tell you what’s in the dishes. The girl behind the counter wasn’t very helpful. Overall the food was good, just a bit on the expensive side.

Update: 1/24/26: Came here again just to see if the last visit was a one time thing but NOPE! The portion was even smaller although the price is still the same. They filled the bowl with meat & not a lot of Okra. This was probably my last time visiting! I miss the old management that was over the place.
I’ve been coming to this restaurants for years, even when it was Authentic Liberian Cuisine. Today I ordered fried okra/potato greens & the portions for both meals were extremely small. Hopefully this was just an error and not a new practice because if so the meal is not worth the $25 that is being charged.

My husband and I went there yesterday. Because I love the food. However yesterday I was sad to hear that they are under new management. To me the food was more inviting. The portions were bigger. I order cassava leaf per usuall but was disappointed. There were chicken wings in it instead of the turkey and beef I got pieces of chicken wings and one tiny piece of meat barely any protein. Had it with rice and yes the portion was bigger than main dish. Anyways long story short the food was extremely salty and very little peper. I normally finish all my food but yesterday I was so disappointed that I couldn’t finish my food and mind you I drove almost an hour to get this food double disappointment. However despite it all I love my sister in front very friendly and greet with a smile always good spirit it was really good to see you great customer service I appreciate you keep up the good work. Now the question will I return there again maybe but not anytime soon but if the food continue to be salty probably not. You see the reason our food is so good is not because we buried it in salt please if your meat is salty then I would suggest no salt in the rice but please watch the portion of salt.

I love the food !!! It was sooo good ! Only thing I would complain about is the price of food. It was $30 really per person which is super expensive for the ingredients of food cost.
Other than that I would definitely be trying egusi and fufu again!

High Rise Phoenix
I loved the decor! The food is delightful! The fufu is soft and sticky and soaks up and gravy and tames a bit of the kick and the heat was perfect where it’s not over powering. I loved the digital menu board and that it is a simple menu. It’s an order at the counter type restaurant. The service was wonderful in my experience. Of course it’s a bit hidden in a very mini strip mall off of 19th/Glendale. As they say “hole in the wall restaurants tend to have the best food”.

First time trying West African food, and I was very impressed. I ordered the fried okra with fufu and sweet plantains, and everything was delicious. The food arrived fresh and hot, like it was cooked right when it was sent out. Portions are very generous, and the flavors were amazing. I’ll definitely be ordering again.

Deceptive practices. I got $70 of food. I order BEEF in my cassava soup with fufu. I noticed I had dry pieces of chicken mix with beef. Food was good but not what I ordered. Most likely stick with my original spot.

This was my first time trying Liberian food and it definitely didn’t disappoint! From the moment we walked in, everyone was so kind and welcoming. They even gave us samples of their dishes to help us decide what we wanted — but they were all so good we ended up ordering some of everything! We especially loved the cassava leaf and will definitely be coming back to try more of the dishes on their weekly menu. Thank you for a fantastic meal!
