Located on the upper deck of the Freehold Raceway Mall, right next to the LL Bean, I stopped by for a quick nibble while holiday gift shopping.
Upon arriving, I noticed their display cases weren’t fully stocked, but the person behind the counter quickly reassured me that they were actively preparing more. I ordered the classic pretzel with salt.
Unfortunately, I immediately noticed that the classic pretzels have gotten skinnier yet are still priced at $6.99. Regarding the taste, I recall a time when their pretzels were notably softer and more buttery. This particular pretzel was a bit dense. While I was hoping for a crispier exterior, it was a little too chewy for my personal taste.
I’ll be the first to admit that pretzel texture is truly a personal preference. I prefer a lighter, airier dough with a crispier exterior. My preference for a less-dense pretzel is simply a matter of taste. However, I stand by my observation that their pretzels are definitely slimmer than they used to be.
The stand still offers a full menu. I saw that the popular Pretzel Nugget buckets run between $8.00 and $12.00, depending on the flavor. Unsurprisingly, the pepperoni pretzel nuggets and the mini pretzel dogs were the most expensive options. They also offer a variety of bottled water, soda, and various lemonades, though I skipped the drinks this time.
Tables and seating are available nearby, where you can settle down, take a break, and consume your pretzel.

I had a great experience at Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon. The food was fresh, warm, and exactly what I was craving, but what really stood out was the staff Especially Sandra. Everyone was super friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made the whole visit even better. It’s always nice to be served by people who clearly care about customers and enjoy what they do. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to!

This is pretty typical for an auntie Anne’s. I only ever come here when I want a salty snack. The pretzels are very good and I think the flavor is unique to them. The location here is clean and well maintained. It’s actually quite nice to get a pretzel and wander around the mall on occasion

My kids love these pretzels . We went on a weekday and there was t much crowd. The sugar pretzels were good but was a bit dry . It got sticky after 10-15 mins . I hope they were fresh . Customer service could be better . Conveniently located within freehold mall. Parking is a bit crazy here . Overall an average experience

They all literally looked like they were dying. I walked up and I said hi how are you? He literally just looked at me and then I tried to use a discount code. He was really rude about it and then I ordered a drink and my drink was literally spilling over when he was pouring it and When he went to put the lid on, it was literally overfilling and the cup was all wet and I was like I don’t want to drink anymore and they were just very rude about it. The food has like raw dough , I would just not come here at all

Good pretzels, but the employees are a little rude. I ordered pretzel nuggets with cheese dipping sauce. Cashier gave me the the pretzels and completely ditched me to go to the bathroom. Thankfully, another employee gave me the cheese sauce, but that was very unprofessional to leave a customer while you’re helping them.

I really don’t understand the decision of this location to not sell any actual ready made pretzels and instead do it on a made-to-order basis. They only have pretzel nuggets available at any given time. This is the only AA’s I’ve seen that does this and it just seems stupid. Who wants to wait 7-10 minutes for a pretzel to be made and cooked? I’ll just go to the nearby Wetzel’s Pretzels since they actually sell, you know, pretzels? Hope someone at Auntie Anne’s corporate knows about this.

But all I want is a plain pretzel. I ordered one and they guy tells me we dont have any pretzels, and Im like why dont u have any pretzels, this is a pretzel store… why do I have to beg to buy a pretzel… again… after
Putting a little resistance, they made me a pretzel, and only what I ordered.
