The place wasn’t busy but it took for ever to get a glass of water or a drink. A Cantonese friend had been wanting to try this place since he had eaten at its sister restaurant. Everything was so so. The warm duck dish was so so, the chicken dish wasn’t even so so but it was edible. The dish we thought was the best and was pretty good was the fried green beans. My Cantonese guest was disappointed since he recommended AUGUST GATHERINGS and in his words- there was nothing August about it. Also they need better napkins for greasy food.

I recently visited this restaurant with my family and the experience was really enjoyable. I’ve had a lot of food in Chinatown but you could feel the quality of the food was elevated here. My fav dish was probably the eel, which was sauced so well, and the durian pastry was also a pleasant surprise.

The restaurant is not very spacious and so clean compared to the other restaurants in Chinatown. We ordered slated-egg fried shrimp. It is one of best I have fried shrimp I have had in NYC. The other dish is fried oyster with veggies including asparagus and taro. It is also surprisingly tasty. We were also offered free dessert (red bean pasta). Service is excellent as well.

I feel like $60 for a plate of sweet and sour pork, 2 bowls of rice, a pot of oolong, and a egg tart is overkill.

Thats just me. Not on my list to ever eat at ever again.

The environment is clean and welcoming, the dishes are creative and full of surprises, and every meal feels thoughtfully prepared. The staff are professional and attentive, and you can really feel the passion behind how this place is run.

I recently tried August Gatherings富瑤, a modern Cantonese restaurant with stylish vibes and creative takes on classic dishes. The atmosphere feels a bit upscale but still relaxed, and the menu mixes familiar favorites like XO fried rice and salt-baked chicken with some more inventive plates. Many of the dishes were flavorful and well-balanced, and the service was friendly and professional — they really try to make the meal feel special.

A couple of things to know: the space is on the smaller side and tends to get busy, so it’s a good idea to reserve ahead. Prices are on the higher end for Chinatown, and some dishes can be a little salty — but overall the food quality and experience made it worth it for me.

Food is good. But we got the beggar chicken and it came out drenched in starchy sauce, which is not pictured in the image, nor mentioned in the description, and we were never asked about it.

We got it before and it didn’t come out with all that sauce. For such an expensive dish, I would have expected proper expectations to be set before deciding for us. We got served something we didn’t order. Everyone in the table was surprised, and not in a good way.

It was a major letdown.

We visited multiple time before and I’m now questioning whether to return or not.

This was another highly recommended restaurant to try by my friends. When we went on a Friday night they were busy but it was about a 30minute wait which was reasonable. The food was authentic and tasty. It wasn’t oily. They had many options. I loved it!
