Le restaurant est tenu par un couple qui propose un menu qui change régulièrement au fil des saisons, de la météo et des envies du Chef. Une belle carte des vins est à découvrir pour sublimer l’ensemble du repas. Deborah et Mathieu gèrent le Comptoir de Balthazar situé au centre du village de Saignon et face à l’église romane Notre-Dame de Pitié. Un couple de bons vivants appréciant les plaisirs de la table, ils ont a cœur de vouloir faire passer un agréable moment dans l’établissement, aussi bien dans l’assiette que dans le verre. Vous pourrez profiter d’une terrasse ombragée et végétale ou d’un intérieur convivial et chaleureux. We were lucky enough to find this wonderful place by accident. The menu is short but the food was exceptional. Truly some of the best food we’ve eaten in a long time. The Rice Pudding desert in particular was better than perfect. We were there off season but otherwise be sure to book.

Really nice small restaurant in the heart of Saignon near the church. I had the pickled herring to start, the braised lamb as a main, and the stewed mirrabelle plums to finish. They were all really good – light and well prepared, topped off with nice wine and kind service.

Romantic place in the center of a small village Saignon, just in front of the local church and municipality. We had a lunch here after a fantastic tour in the village and old ruins of a castle with stunning views.
Service here was top, quick, pleasant and authentic. Food – local and simple, but very delicious. Will definitely come back to this charming place. One of Provence’s pearls.

We ate here several times during a one-month stay in Saignon and loved every meal. The food was excellent (when we got home, I immediately set about trying to replicate their chestnut soup). The couple who run the restaurant (he’s in the kitchen, she runs the front of house) were always gracious and friendly. They never showed any impatience with my appalling French or my wife’s need for gluten-free dishes. We have fond memories of our dinners there and wish them both the very best going forward.

Extraordinary family-run little local restaurant. We had an incredible duck with potatoe gratin, anchovïes as a started, and apricot crumble and creme brûlée as desserts. Everything was great and, above all, GREAT value for money compared to the average restaurants in this areas. Last but not the least: very cozy location. Must go!!!
